You're crazy. Amazon and eBay both have aftermarket at $30 and they work just as well

Brickseek just shows my area as clearance. Doesn't show a price
Any confirmation of what price they had in store? Mine shows just "clearance" too. Do these things actually work good enough to use on carpet vs. a corded vacuum?

Excellent! I'm happy you were able to get one 👍
Add me to the list. Thank you very much SPP. Smilie

Dare I say, this was one of my first successful YMMV post with brickseek? I went to store, and it showed they had 3 in stock on brickseek, I was NOT hopeful but there it was, just 1 left, not 3.. I guess someone else got 2 by the time I got there, 1 was still in stock, however tied with security + chained to the shelf LOL!!

I've had my v7 for over a year (bought new) and battery still runs great. Use it almost daily too with a toddler. I guess YMMV
Thanks! What difference does this Motorhead - rememember me now motorhead allright -- sorry got carried away--- motorhead one has compared to regular V7 or is there V7 animal that's better?

Are those safe, though? I heard horror stories with ebay batteries before.

Ouch! I bought a replacement battery for my refurbished V8 that was running really low after a year. Just got one on Amazon instead of from Dyson, was under $30. One screw and old battery pack was out. Super easy to do in case it happens again, that's an option.
These come with 2 yr warranty, right? My old B+D started dying just into end of 2yrs, that is horrible quality stuff, so I am going to try this, I hope battery is easy to replace at least 2 yr warranty. Does anyone get extended warranty for this?

Does anyone add extended warranty on those. My old dyson ball floor canister had 5 yrs warranty, but handle broke recently.

Some people consider Samsung battery cells as "best" but they were exploding in phones a couple years ago. Lol.

I'm still confused about which models and replacement heads would work best for me. I have tile throughout and some rugs. Would I need the soft brush head? And is this model, therefor, not a good fit for my needs?

Correct, the soft roller head is far superior on hard floors.

Brickseek shows "clearance" at my local stores. I can confirm that at one of those stores, the price was $149.00.

Regarding efficacy, I have a 1700 sq/ft home half carpet half wood. We exclusively use the Dyson cordless stick vac. It does a better job than a broom on the wood and a better job than our old corded upright on the carpet.

Didn't warranty covers the battery?
It was just over by two weeks, they didn't honor it.

I believe the regular v7 and the motorhead are the same unit, just different names depending on where it was purchased

Edit: per this site https://moderncastle.com/vacuum-c...v7-review/

there was 4 versions of v7
Dyson V7 Absolute
Dyson V7 Animal
Dyson V7 Motorhead
Dyson V7 HEPA

Thanks for this, I thought they all were HEPA, I guess I was wrong.
Also this doesn't come with mini motor-head, so weird. at least it has crevice tool. Would it be too expensive to get fluffy head and other attachments for this?

For the fluffy head attachment it would depend if you want genuine dyson version ($95 and up) or the knock off version ($35 and up)
Attachments get very expensive very fast when it comes to dyson.

I bought one of these in store last week, and it works well! My old Dyson stick vac was having issues after 6-7 years of use. This one is sooooo much quieter than the old one! Marked price was the same, but I got a bit of an additional discount for purchasing the display. Well worth it!

Wow, that's so expensive. I will look for knock off or something that can help me vacuum hardwood, even regular plain non-roller flat attachment should help, any sugestions?

Also I asked before but nobody mentioned anything.
HD does not offer longer extended warranty, did anyone consider getting square trade or something for 5 years? Square trade wants $110 I think it's too much..
