Having said that, if you enjoyed BL2 gameplay you'll enjoy this. Especially if you are on PS5. Runs buttery smooth in 1080p and very well at 4k. So much better than 30fps PS4.
PS4 disc includes the PS5 full upgrade for free, you just have download the PS5 version and have the disc in to play.
PS4 had some issues with menu lag, not sure if they fixed that or not but it'd be super annoying in this game as you are in the menus/inventory/maps constantly.
The full disc version with season pass 1 was on sale for $30. There is already a season 2 dlc. They are making their money assuming you'll buy the dlc.
If you are not hardcore into the series $8 for the core game is a good value for the play time, as was $30 for the core game plus season 1. It's also one of the few games that keeps a 2 player splitscreen mode.

There's a free upgrade for the PS5 and Series X that runs beautifully.
That said, I put a few hours into it on my PS5 and the gameplay wasn't exactly my cup of tea.

I put it about 30hrs and really enjoyed it but got burned out at that time. It's really fun and if you like that kind of gameplay it will be perfect for you. I had my fill and did think I got my money's worth because it was fun. And 120hz on PS5 is really smooth.
It's much better than the Pre-sequel and BL2. There are some really cool new twists to the guns, and the map is improved to the point that you can actually use it with some reliability now.
If you're looking for something cheap to sink some time into, go for it. But it's by no means a must play.

Don't care about any of the cosmetic and weapons packs- are the 4 campaign DLC campaigns fun enough or just more of the same?
Same thought with standard Rage 2 that also shows up on sale for $8-10 often.

For $8??? It is very much worth it, you'll easily get a few days of enjoyment from it. I purchased a cheeseburger yesterday that cost me twice as much and it only gave me 10 minutes of gratification.
Digital doesn't get you into the store to buy more junk.
