You can't do this with Vinegar , diesel , or anything else .
I hope the attachments worked .
I bought two gallons of this stuff last time it was on sale and paid $16.85/gal. I used it to clean up a bunch of hand tools and it works great and can be reused. Just submerge the tools and come back in a few days and rinse them off and/or hit them with some 0000 steel wool. I cleaned up a rusty set of Snap-on punch and chisels that I made a few hundred dollars on. This product will take rust off guns but it will also remove the bluing.

Diesel fuel does the job, but is anything but environmentally friendly, etc. Does Evaporust work as well as diesel?

I use apple cider vinegar. Not sure if it works any differently than white, it's just what I'm familiar with.

As for Evaporust at this price its a little cheaper than parts washer solution... wondering if I can toss some of this in with the mix

I've got a rusty generator I need to clean up. Can't soak it in this, obviously, but I'm wondering if direct application might work. Also what sort of applicator would you recommend?

TIA

Ultrasonic cleaners speed the process up a TON. never pour directly into the tub though....not sure if it's flammable but the residue would be a pain to clean. I use old plastic containers filled to the same height as the water bath.

It's been this price, bought it 12/14/20. It's $1 cheaper at Pepboys, but didn't feel like driving there.

Can't believe how much some people spend on products like this. Rust removal by electrolysis works like a champ, is more environmentally friendly, and is cheaper.

Consumables:
rebar
washing soda
electricity

Only downside is you can't do it on objects that are too big for your largest bucket/tub (no, not bathtub, you don't want to do it there).
