Soooo....I bought the blower with the two batteries but now I feel like I overpaid. Seems everyone is commenting on just the base tool being a good price. Did I mess up?!?!
Not at all, I also went for the full kit. For a refurb it is still a solid deal, about 150 or so off retail new after taxes! Batteries alone run several hundred. Once you get a solid stable of extra batteries then the bare tool deals are awesome too.

I've heard this isn't good on gravel. Anyone agree or disagree?

Then it also says 1 year warranty. So not too sure what to believe.
Says 1 year in description, specifications, and in the pictures for the product. My guess would be one year. I'll be passing on this one.

I have this and 2 7.5 ah batteries and it's convenient but not a very strong thrower compared to my old toro 6.5.

Could be perception because of the lack of noise. Also the chute needs to be re-engineered. Constantly clogs on snow that's even slightly wet.

If you don't need the power of a two stage this would be alright but it's edging into the cheap 2 stage market even at $450

Do you know if the included charger is the "rapid charger?" It was my understanding that most tools with 5ah batteries (or above - especially 2 of them) would include the rapid charger, but that's just my understanding of new products...

Per here, SNT2102 comes with the Rapid charger:

This thing is a beast!!!! But below 32 and wet snow...it will get clogged and it does become a pain. I run a 7.5 and 5ah with a full 9 car driveway without a problem of running out of juice.

So this isn't useful for Chicago winters? Never owned a snow blower, so not sure if I need single or dual stage.

seriously a batterie operated snow blower.
I've been battling snow for 2 days. I would hate to think of worrying about a battery
This would probably be good for a Texas winter.
I'm sure not for the anywhere north
You should ask a question when you don't know what you're talking about. This is a great single stage snow blower and I live in Minnesota. It will not do the work of a powerful two stage blower when the snow is heavy and wet and deep, but that's not because it's not gas -- any single stage paddle type blower would have that limit.

I'm a shave north of Chicago, but this blower served me well today and all last winter. We got about 8" of dry snow overnight and this Ego worked through it just fine on my 3-car driveway. The convenience of it all---plus using a battery system I'm already in (lawnmower, backpack blower, and weed whacker)---is just really nice.

Single or dual stage? Dual stage is great if you need it and want to pay for it ($1200 for the Ego two stage, I believe), but this single stage has worked for me at a much lower price.

YMMV on this company. The ego blower I got clearly had the wrong tube and they didn't do much to solve the problem. I had to pack it up and return for refund. I'm prepared to do a charge back if I don't hear from them in another week.
