From RTINGS: "Overall, the Samsung RU9000 is better than the Samsung TU8000. The RU9000 has a higher peak brightness, a much wider color gamut, and significantly better gradient handling. The RU9000 also has a faster response time, it can remove judder from all sources, and it has a 120Hz refresh rate. Input lag is lower on the TU8000, but if you want VRR support, only the RU9000 has it."

Edit: FYI... Costco Members Only Sale... through 2/12... 82" RU9000 $1499 w/ 5 yr warranty (YMMV?)
