I've become a huge fan of Altra shoes recently. They're comfortable: the toe box is larger, which keeps your toes from pinching. The fabric and construction is light and flexible. This seems like a decent deal. Thumbs up.

I got a pair of the red Torin's last time these were on sale, they are the best running shoes I have ever worn. My knees don't hurt after my runs like they used to with New Balance shoes.

Only regular sizes available. I heard Altras are pretty wide and was wondering if these are wide enough for someone who tends to wear wide size shoes

They're wide specifically in the toe box. If your mid-foot needs the width then these might not work for you but if it's your forefoot that seems crowded in regular sizes then these might suffice.

I have wide feet for a woman and tend to buy men's shoes (D width) for the extra width. Would the women's shoes be wide enough in this instance? I'm trying to find a decent replacement for the Brooks Ghost 12 as they've become narrower over the last few models. Any suggestions?

I personally find all Altras to be very narrow in the mid foot. I really appreciate the room to toe splay. I have hammer toe in my piggy toe so on long runs I tend to get a blister there.

However, the narrow mid foot and absolutely zero arch support is terrible if you're an overpronator. I developed plantar fasciitis from the Torin 3.5 and switched to Brooks Ghost in wide. Take home: YMMV but careful if you need a support shoe.
