A one-year subscription costs $99. The offer is to spend $99+ and get $99 back, so it's a free one-year subscription.

Get a one-time $99 statement credit after using your enrolled eligible Card to make a single subscription-based purchase of $99+ online at The Motley Fool or at fool.com/amex [fool.com] by 5/8/2021. See terms.

Quote :
Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. American Express Prepaid Cards, Corporate Cards and American Express Cards issued outside the United States are not eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid only on US website or at Fool.com/amex. Valid only on purchases made in US dollars. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member. The enrolled Card account must not be cancelled or past due to receive statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 5/8/2021, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. The Motley Fool Terms and Conditions currently provide that unless you notify The Motley Fool that you want to cancel, or that you do not want to auto renew, your subscription or membership fee will automatically renew for another subscription period (subject to applicable law) of equal length (for example, monthly, or annually). This means that The Motley Fool will collect the then-applicable membership or subscription fee and any taxes by charging a credit card The Motley Fool has on record for you without notifying you, unless notification is required by applicable law. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. Send an email to [email protected] after you have signed up requesting opt-out for the auto renewal. After I did that, they sent me an email that said: "we have disabled the auto-renewal feature"

If you search online - you will find 2-year packages to StockAdvisor or Rule-breakers for only $98 (one-year for $59)

[b]For those curious how Motley Fool's stock picks are performing I setup a pie (portfolio) on M1Finance with 41 of the most recent suggested stocks from Tom and David. As long as I see reps coming from this thread so I know people are still using it I will update this link every Thursday to show the new recommendations.
https://m1.finance/2M-jgR32cPTC [Final update was on 04/08 due to apparent lack of interest].
M1finance gives you free trades and fractional shares which means you can transfer xxx dollars a week or 2 weeks and it will adjust it based on your percentages.
Advantage of fractional shares is explained well here: https://www.fool.com/investing/ho...al-shares/

For the people complaining about to much spam before you go crazy and cancel your account, go into your account settings and uncheck what you don't want. I have everything unchecked but the buy/sell alerts in stock advisor. https://www.fool.com/account/comm...-settings/

I just signed up. The first thing they do is try to sell you upgraded services for anywhere from $200-$14,000. The "premium" service we get is nearly useless. The last stock picks article is from December 28.
Swagbucks has 7500SB for the $99 yearly subscription as well, should be stackable for a nice MM.
Market correction coming soon for GameStop.

What "recent picks?" When I signed up, they flooded me with several other options to buy additional plans and better research, bla, bla, bla. I'm curious what parts of the $99 plan are worth reviewing.

You obviously didn't look to hard...in stock advisor section it has a page that lists all their recommendations and when they were made...I took the 21 most recent and built the pie linked in previous post. Any money put into the pie was basically evenly divided amongst them.

Tom releases a couple every week. David releases a couple every month....Tom in the most recent vidcast (last thursday) also mentioned several of his "runner ups".

*correction* Amazon and Tradedesk were not included in the pie since I had them already in another pie.

Stock advisor is fine for ideas, but at this point, many of the recommendations have had crazy growth, which to be fair is true of much of this very frothy market. Also worth noting is that when MF makes a recommendation, the stock tends to outperform in the short term, as all the MF subscribers put their money in (some hedge funds may also pile in knowing that this is going to happen). Literally, at the exact moment a new recommendation comes out (and MF gives an exact time for their announcements), the stock will rise approximately 10% in about five minutes. Sometimes this explosive rise can continue for many months but often it is not sustainable.

So, not only does the $99 get them one more subscriber to spam, but it allows them to further boost the price of all of their picks as it is one more potential person who will buy the stocks they recommend. To be fair, this is true of all investment newsletters, and actually isn't much different than how stock prices move immediately after an analyst issues a new price target.

Agreed, I hate the aggressive spamming of other newsletters once you sign up for this. Honestly I'm finding free articles on Seeking Alpha a better resource for stock analysis.

Very aggressive spamming. I was able to stop most by unsubscribing manually. Most of these tips can be found elsewhere, but it helps to pressure check my long term investments. I would never pay for this though.

Also keep in mind, you could have put money into almost anything and made gains over the last year. And if you entered the market late Jan (during the dip), the last 2 weeks in Feb have been crazy.

Lets clarify here...Motley fool has nothing to do with the stock rising and is actively trying to make corrections to this. It's a bunch of bots and they start buying as soon as the recommendation is made. Their whole thesis is they don't give a damn what happens to it this hour, day, month. Their recommended hold time for all their picks is 3-5 years.

I've had excellent returns from some Seeking Alpha Posts...and also from some free fool.com posts. The catch comes in identifying which people are idiots and which know what they are talking about. Julian Lin on Seeking Alpha wrote an article titled something like "There is no light at the end of the tunnel for Tanger" (Stock symbol SKT) and admitted he shorted the stock around 12/24.....over the next couple of weeks it shot up 50%..since them it's shot up another 20%. I take issue with someone trash talking a stock after admitting they shorted it. High Yield Landlord has some decent suggestions if you can ignore their strenuous efforts to get you to pay $399 for their marketplace service.

Well if you want to get down to it a monkey throwing darts at a stock list could have made money since April 2020 thanks to covid and the stocks would be up 40-60% by now. (back to their pre covid rates) It happened with all the reits (and I know because I had SEVERAL)....energy and finance also had their own shots in the spotlight.

Their long term performance is outstanding and they have been even better in recent years on Stock Advisor. In an up market everybody looks like a genius but theses guys have been doing it for years. I've been following them for two decades.

Save your $99 bucks, its nothing but an ad to sell you subscriptions to other services, hence the year price.
What you are saying is not true. Why spread misinformation to other folks here? I don't get it.

Hope the subscription price will dip down to $99 again. I want to see what they got, but don't want to pay $50 for it, if it is not worth it.
