What does this model compare to on their current model range, based on features and image quality? I don't think it has the same as the current Ring Pro?

On a quick comparison, this one only have 2.4ghz wifi, whereas the 5yr old pro has 2.4 and 5ghz. Both have advanced motion detection, 1080p, night vision.

The new one is helluva lot smaller, that alone is probably going to get a lot of folks to switch from the old bricks. IMHO there's no real benefit to 5Ghz connectivity on this.
Why is it cheaper than previous generations. Amazon must have cut corners to make it cheaper.
perhaps not - this wired/cheaper version will not ring existing doorbell, nor will it have a battery. Those two "options" may help explain the decrease in price.

Plus pay $3/mo for cloud subscription if you need to view motion alert clips.
Don't know why you are downvoted. After a year the total cost of the doorbell would be $100, at that price you can just get a Eufy Doorbell for the same price and skip the subscription.

Get real-time notifications sent straight to your phone, compatible Alexa device, or Ring Chime so you'll always know when someone stops by
***My fault. It doesn't work with EXISTING DOORBELL CHIME, but works with Ring's "Chime"
