Very light, bigger bezel, cheap build but the screen is really nice. Have this and happy with it.
I was initially excited about this product. However, after reading the 1-star reviews, video-over-USB-C seems to be something that is not widely supported. What devices do you use with the monitor?

Yes, you need to have something that supports DP alt mode over USB-C. I only have one device that supports this, but most new devices with USB-C ports should support this video out method, especially if they also support USB-C charging.
Can anyone compare this screen to the Asus Zen Screen? I have one of those (also single USB-C cable) and it looks beautiful. Those are now $200 and this is only $129.
FWIW, the ZenScreen works on all my laptops that have USB-C ports, AND, it works to duplicate the screen of an iPad Pro via USB C (no extra power required!).

I wish their was a better more clear standard. The idea that a USB C can possibly do X, Y and/or Z, or not is a pain the the arse. I'm tech literate. I just don't want to have to think about it. I see a USB C. I have a screen. It should just work. No questions asked.
At the very least break it down to USB C and USB C Plus. Keep it simple. USB C is too much of an unstandard standard.

I also have a zenscreen. That supports both DP alt mode as well as displaylink mode, and is generally brighter, has better color accuracy, and has better build quality, while being a bit larger and heavier.

I bought the refurbished version from Acer/ebay last week for $77, but it is currently out of stock (they seem to come and go). It works with both my HP 14-da0011dx Chromebook x360 14" and my Dell Precision 5540. For the price I'm really happy with it. I wish it came with a more substantial case as the cloth/foam cover won't give much protection while traveling.
Most of the bad reviews were related to laptops with USB-C ports, but without dp-alt support. IMO, it is a good value if you can confirm your device's USB-C port supports dp-alt mode.

That's what Displayport and HDMI are for. Display only interfaces that you know will generally work 99.999% of the time. Therefore you already have similar screens that take in HDMI so if you want something you know just works when plugged in with a cable standard, those options exist.
USB-C is a generic all-purpose connector for a reason. For people who want more specialized or convenient options such as having a single cable for power and video.

Yes. I know. But having to know what you're USB C can or can't do shouldn't be such a mystery.

It is listed at $90, but has a 15% off coupon that was automatically applied.
Thanks, in for one to try out. This offer is still active and inexpensive. Not like I needed another monitor, but what the heck lets go from five to six monitors. I thought I was maxed out on my docking station, but the laptop has a USB-C port that's unused. Let's see if it works. Haha...

It's very appealing but my laptop doesn't have thunderbolt, so no bueno.
