I've been using a 10400f with a an RTX 2080ti, and for 4k 60hz gaming, typical productivity and light content creation, it's essentially indistinguishable from any chip that's available, even ones that cost 2-3 times as much. Unless you're doing heavy multithreaded rendering tasks, or are targeting 90+ FPS in games, this CPU is tough to beat.

This will do fine compared to a Ryzen if it could be found for the acceptable price, only because my friend has games, nothing that REALLY utilizes 8cores. 6 cores will do fine for gaming.

When it does not net most people FPS except the feeling that they are "optimizing" their rig. Which to each their own, I look at people who like the OSX experience like that... you get something shiny. But not value to me.

Most people don't need the integrated graphics, but I'm using it to build a VMware lab, so needed this one. Great price on both CPUs.
Example, last build for a friend who had a case/PSU:
82.99 1TB Intel 665p NVMe SSD M.2 2280 (Newegg)
53.99 OLOy 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200mhz (Newegg)
64.99 ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4 (Newegg)
14.14 Tax for RAM/Mobo/SSD (Newegg)
8.00 Windows 10 Pro (OEM key)
107.00 Ryzen 3 3100 (ebay)
100.00 4GB XFX RX580 (used)
26.70 AX WiFi/Bluetooth Card (Amazon)

During the years I stopped playing serious games, I simply lived with my laptops with external 24"/30" monitor for work and everyday use.
