Can't recommend this purchase enough. Price is up from a few years back when I bought it, which is to be expected. If you are going to buy this, do yourself a favor and open a Costco credit card if you don't have one. You will get 2 extra years of warranty. 4 years of warranty, no extra cost, and it's through Costco.

I agree 100%.

We had a similar, but much worse experience with two of our whirlpool gold French Door refrigerators. I say refrigerators because we're on our 3rd one in less than 2 years. The first one was a disaster, the door ice maker auger motor went bad, then the evaporator fan motor iced over twice, and the water inlet valve stopped working. Whirlpool replaced the first one under a lemon law type of situation.

We only had the second refrigerator about 1 week before it started getting getting warm (48 degrees). My wife just about lost it, she'd spent hours and hours of time, holding for customer service over the previous year, and we'd lost 100's of dollars of food due to unsafe high temps in the fridge. Whirlpool customer service is pretty good, they immediately set up an appointment to exchange the 2nd fridge for a new one, with no questions asked.

We've had the current fridge for about a year now with no problems (knock on wood). As I said whirlpool customer service is very good, but I wish we never had to find that out.

Multiple different repairmen also reiterated the fact that we were lucky we didn't buy a Samsung or LG fridge (kind of ironic, as they were there to fix our "good" broken whirlpool), they said most of their service calls were for LG and Samsung refrigerators.

I expected much better quality from an $3,000 American made refrigerator from a well known manufacturer.

It really feels like there are no good brands anymore for most appliances, fridges included. Any research winds up showing mostly negative reviews, and sure, that's probably partly self selecting bias, but it's depressing. Are there any good ones out there?

Damn it, bought it for $2,450 for fridge + dishwasher back during black Friday
try chatting online and asking for a price adjustment. I bought mine in December and they've given me two adjustments since then.

My new place won't be ready until end of February. Anyone know if I can purchase first, and choose the delivery date 30 days from now?

Bought this around Christmas with the 350 credit back offer. First one was clearly a return they did not bother to open to check. Everything was broken inside...
Took almost 30 days for a replacement to arrive, but has been perfect. Quite silent, temperature has been steady (I have a fridge/freezer monitor with 5 probes), ice production is quite decent and I love the underpad LED lights.

Is it confirmed that the using the Costco card double the warranty to four years? I was thinking about getting the Allstate warranty for years 3-5. Any thoughts?

And by the way I have a Samsung fridge and it is just awful. It leaks, constantly ices up to the point where we have to shut it down and defrost it a few times a year, ice maker keeps crapping out. And it's been that way since one month after the warranty expired. I got lucky and Samsung agreed to have it serviced a month out of warranty, but the repair man tried a few things but said it's a design flaw and probably won't fix the problem. He was right.
I have a crappy Samsung French door fridge too, but I fixed my icing problem by ordering a clip on Amazon that you use to replace the tiny defroster clip that Samsung provides. Did this six months ago and haven't frozen up since. Was a $10 fix, how-to videos are on YouTube.

Defective ice maker. Expect to replace it every 2-3 years. I'm in my third one.

Wirlpool fridges are no longer considered reliable.
Check consumer reports.
I had a compressor leak in about 2 years...just outside the warranty!
Had a second fridge (also a whirlpool) door seal break ...just outside warranty again!
they tech said these are becoming very common with whirlpools...quality is going down the tubes!
Same thing with my whirlpool microwave....sometimes it starts by itself as soon as i close the door.
This model has a 71 on CR, only 13 points below the top rated model and far above the median. Good thing people are about to fact check your claim in under a minute.

I'm a landlord and have replaced every failed kitchen appliance with a Whirlpool. I also have this exact fridge in my own house. Never had a single issue. Most other LL I know consider Whirlpool the best value in kitchen appliances.

This is a nice refrigerator owned for close to a year. Def a little loud at times. I don't mind but may bother some people.

Great fridge. Unfortunately people who own fridges like this don't know how to cook. What a wasted potential!

I cannot recommend this unit. Ours has issues with the fridge temp (too warm or too cold - items freezing) and it is quite noisy. I had to do a repair on the compressor mounts which were very poorly installed making a racket of a noise. The ice selection of chips or chunks always has issues, the ice maker at times just stops making ice, and now it is making a horrible noise assuming a gear is bad (ice maker). Also the ice dispenser is a horrible design and will clog frequently leaving the flap door open and exposing the freezer to the room - plus not well insulated as it is (little thin plastic door). I'd not get all giddy on the price and look for a better choice.

We ordered 4 appliances from Costco.com and it has been the worst experience I've ever had. Costco.com and Costco warehouses are miles apart on service.
