Def do research, and talk with your dentist. It's not always that bad to go to your regular dentist.
And read this before diving teeth-first into a potentially empty pool:
"Hidden camera investigation finds misleading information, questionable treatment plans from SmileDirectClub"
"Following the treatment plan from SmileDirectClub would make the tester's underbite worse and push the lower teeth out so far, it could result in teeth falling out."

Any of us who are professionals, or who work closely with professionals, know where and how to cut corners or pull The Truth in that Field.
In any matter of your Health, if you don't know much about the healthcare provider/office you're at, you should always get their Opinion before committing to their treatment, then ABSOLUTELY go to seek the opinion of another, and another, and another, of time permits.
Each time you're with a Professional, you'll learn something more about your treatment options, because no two practitioners are equally informed or experienced.
And listen to your gut instinct. It's usually correct.
If you want your Records/Chart, X-rays and Office Notes are the PHYSICAL property of that office.
However: The information therein/thereon must be made available to you upon request, a day or so after your request, and may be charged a per page fee to you.
X-rays taken on acetate can be copied, using a blank film and a UV light in a dark room ..... or that office must allow you to borrow those physical films.
Example of finding the right healthcare professional?
I needed a skin tumor removed from my forearm.
I went to a general surgeon who, carelessly, told me he'll have to do a skin graft from my butt.
F'you, I thought, sitting there in front of him.
I asked him if it couldn't be excised and then simply reduced (Closed), without a graft.
He was writing, not even looking back, when he answered that there wasn't enough skin for that.
My gut told me he's done this thousands of times to others, but I'm not going to let this butcher touch me.
Instead, SIX MONTHS LATER, after LOTS of research, I found AN AWESOME plastic surgeon in Tampa, Dr. David Halpren, who did a remarkable excision on my forearm, and did reduce it, without any butt graft.
Three months later: the cut is barely visible.
