I have 805 fico and they decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I won't be applying any Capital one credit card anytime soon.
Call the reconsideration line, could be an error on the app or a typo. Happened to me before
Keep in mind that you'll also get a hard pull from all 3 bureaus anytime you apply for a Capital One credit card.

If you have a friend with capital one, they offer a $100 referral bonus. Referral links are not allowed here, but you could help out a friend you already know if you were going to apply anyway. They might even give you a cut.
Personally I like their card. I would recommend it especially for the no foreign transaction fees and standard 1.5% cashback.
foreign as in overseas PayPal pmts or purchases ie in Canada, England, websites? for goods or friends and family?
I got this and the wells fargo visa that also give you $200 but on $1000. Between both cards I will easily spend $1500 on gas, food, xmas....etc etc in 3 months actually probably in just 2. So to spend $1500 to get $400 back, yeah I will take that all day long...
between both cards this works out to kinda being about 27% cash back on the $1500
In addition on the wells fargo you'll get 2% on the $1000 = $20
and on the capitol one 1.5% on the $500 = $7.50
So total "cash back" on both cards for spending $1500 is $427.50
They've sent mail to me like 5 times in the last 2 months advertising this $200 back deal and saying I'm pre-approved. I only have an Amex and a lowes credit card. I keep them paid off. My score is around 750 but I'm only in my 30s so I have a long time to build more credit. Tempted to apply for the card for the cash. Just use the card for your regular purchases like groceries and you'll get to $500 in no time.

Question if anyone happens to know. Quicksilver was my 1st card I got many many years ago. It has a $49 annual fee which I tried to have them remove last year with no luck. I even told them to close my account if they wouldn't in which they said go ahead.
I rarely use the card due to their poo poo rewards and horrid customer service. I don't want to close the account cause its my longest lasting card & know it effect my credit (I think). Seems like nonsense not to remove the annual fee if the new offer doesn't have one. Any advice on what to do?

Paying $49 annual fee just to keep this card seems not worth it for me. So if I were you, I would close it. Try another bank card, such as Wells Fargo Active Cash card. $200 reward after you spend $1000 in the first 3 months

They declined me back in the early 2000s. I had every card under the sun, a car loan, perfect credit score etc
Then I get the denial letter in the mail, and it has my father's social security number in the letter. We only have the same first and last name, middle is different and he's a jr. I figured I didn't want to work with a credit company that can't decipher 2 different people, with 2 different names and SS #s.
Captial One has been offering me this card online to switch my old card with them. I'm not sure if they include the $200 cash bonus though. Any reason I shouldn't?

It's in the form of credit which you can redeem to reduce your balance.
The only reason I want this card is it does not charge Foreign transaction fee, and can get 1.5% back, the one I am using now is 1% back
