Big time ymmv, don't recommend going to the store just for this "deal". Was at Home Depot last night, and they had ripped bags of traeger pellets marked half off (over-bagged in a clear bag). These pellets are normally $!5-18, and SHOULD have sold for 7.50-9...however they were marked down (in the system) to $5 a bag...I brought 4 bags to the register, and somehow triggered a bulk discount of $4 off per bag (which is an ok deal at full price). The cashier tried to re-ring the purchase 4 times before giving up and game them to me for a final price of $1 a bag!. I ended up with 4 3/4 full+ bags for $4. Again, huge YMMV, because you would need damaged bags to exist at your store, which is not an inventory item obviously. Just a heads up extreme YMMV.

It's probably Pecan ones that I saw on clearance. Here's a brickseek for them: https://brickseek.com/home-depot-...=205709054

no, weirdly I didn't get the pecan, but yes those are intriguing as well. I got 2 hickory, and 2 oak.

Unless you are op, or at the store op was at, this is probably not going to happen.

HD and Lowe's occsonaly sell off products with damaged bags (or slightly wet bagged concrete mix, etc.). I would classify this deal as an YMWV (your mileage WILL vary) and not worth the post. It

It's an interesting tip. I wouldn't make a special trip to see, but if I were there it wouldn't hurt to check. Thanks OP.

I know at lowes they are considered damaged goods, what they do is call up the manufacturer for a return and they usually say to dispose or get rid of it for cheap hence the $1 price tag. I have a friend that used to work returns for Lowes, I don't know why I let her get that better job.... I used to get killer deals just needed to have a truck nearby when they called.

I tried to emphasize exactly how rare this was, but often when I am in a store, I bring up SD and do a quick search to see if anything interesting pops up. If someone is in HD and sees this post (and are wandering the clearance sections like I do sometimes) they may be interested to know that 4 Traeger bags will get an additional $4 off per bag. If they are clearance (even if not opened, just clearanced) they may still trigger an additional discount. Sorry, next time I'll just shill another no-name amazon bluetooth device for referral bonuses instead of an actual helpful post.

I'm sure that's a far more typical case, this was tagged at 50% off, but oddly was marked down to $5 a bag, it was only that I got 4 bags that a bulk purchase discount also got added to my bill, $16 off.
