This bidet is a game changer for life. I can't go back to the archaic wipes again.

Do all of you already have an outlet near your toilet?

How easy is it to DIY install? Also, is this similar to the toilets in Japan?
It's an easy install. You need to connect a few hoses and install the seat plate.

One thing that I really dislike about the remote version of the bidet is that the remote signal keeps on activating my Simple Human hands free soap dispenser. If I don't turn the soap dispenser at an angle, whenever I press a button, soap comes out of the dispenser.

I've been wanting one for a while. But...
A coworker recently had a bunch of photos of his house falling apart and being reconstructed.
Turns out his chihuahua managed to turn on/break his bidet in the upstairs bathroom, costing tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
That story makes me hesitate. Lol
Close the door.

I bought 6 of 6800 from costco different times when it's on sale for me and family and all of them are with heated seat.
Thanks for the answer. This comment made me bite.

No outlet by toilet though.. what are my options?
I don't have one either. However, I notice on the other side of the wall, it has an outlet so I tapped that outlet and connected to the toilet side wall. It's very easy to do and I'm not even an electrician.

I've unopened A8 from from last deal for $249. Any reason to get this over A8?
I've heard it has a weaker spray.

Had 3 of the U model. Removed them and returned. Much better powerwashing with a $25 unit from Amazon. The airdrying was ineffective, warmed water was unnecessary and lower water flow were just not worth the premium price... and i do like my bidets, but this was just too much for lesser performance.

Does it need to be plugged in to power?

Seems easy enough to avoid... don't have a chihuahua.

This says "adjustable heated seat" so it seems to be the U model. I bought one from Costco, then it broke and I returned it. They had A8s available so I bought that to replace it.

They seem pretty similiar, except A8 has a steel nozzle, 6800U has plastic. A8 has weaker stream and makes up for it with a longer wash. I'd prefer a shorter wash with a stronger stream.

A8 heats water faster and is closer to "on demand" than a 6800.

Only if you want your water and seat to be warm
