Something to note.. synthetic rugs are inexpensive but rapidly start looking dull and worn out. This is because dirt and dust scratches and breaks down the fibers. If you get/have one, be sure to vacuum it often to minimize this from happening.

I believe synthetic rugs have their place (I own one myself). However, if you are looking for something to last a long time, wool is the way to go.
