I second this as well. Over the past year, I've completed dozens of the 1000, 1500, and 2000 piece puzzles and never once had a missing piece.
I'm not saying that it isn't possible for a puzzle to be shipped with a missing piece, but in my experience Buffalo puzzles have never been missing pieces and are very good quality.
Contact the manufacturer and they can help you with the missing piece or send you a new puzzle.

Cheaper at target ($12.99) but it's rarely in stock. I had an in stock alert set up and was able to get it last week. Went out of stock again pretty fast tho.

I have also done several of the cabin/lake ones (by artists named Bush and Redlin). These are darker and moodier. To me, these are less fun as there is less color distinction and the overall color scheme is very dark.
<$10 is my buy point for any 1000 piece Buffalo puzzle I like.
