Just because riding is more dangerous than a car doesn't mean you throw all safety measures out. It isn't all or nothing in this life, you do what you want and you risk mitigate to your preference. Not all bikers are lunatics, some of us enjoy the thrill, enjoy saving money on gas, enjoy getting to work and through traffic faster, and enjoy getting home safe.
By the way, every bike is one less car in front of you on your commute, so embrace the two wheelers out there and to the OP thank you for sharing.
Despite being in the presence of someone so smart and so knowledgeable, let me try to present some information. These have gyros that make one analysis per millisecond, and take another 30-45 milliseconds to deploy. That means you'd have a fully-inflated bag in probably under 50 milliseconds on the high side. I'm sure you are aware of how fast that is, being so knowledgeable, but for the other people that don't know better, you'd only travel ~7.4 feet flying off your bike at 100mph (just under 148fps) in that time, or about 5ft at a more sane 70mph. You'd still have 50-350 milliseconds left to complete an eyeblink.
But, now that my dripping sarcasm has stopped, I'd love to know how you being a bad rider translates to understanding time intervals.

What is the value alternative to this particular product?
I can't speak to the value of this deal, but there is no doubt that these significantly decrease your chances of injury in a wreck. Ask me how I know.

If you're on a bike, you damn well better be wearing a helmet, and drive sensibly, if you are concerned about safety.
Better to wear a really tough jacket, and invest in a set of skid bars for your bike, if you want addition safety, vs buying this.
I couldn't care less about road rash when the possibility of being hit by somebody else who is texting or putting on makeup or driving like an idiot could cost me my life. Every little bit helps protect you from the crap around you.
Skid bars and a tough jacket over this? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you either A) Don't Ride or B) Subscribe to the thought process of having to be a bad ass to ride and possible death is just part of the bad ass nature of being a biker. Not my approach but I respect your hard ass outlook because I feel fairly certain you can kick 100% of my safety gear lovin' arse and respect anybody that embraces the hobby!

While I never had a accident, I rode with my cousins who DID get into accidents, and I'm basing my feedback on the injuries they suffered as a result of those accidents.
b) Please explain to me how this thing is going to help you "being able to walk" if you get into an accident on your bike?
It's not going to protect your head (#1 thing to protect). It's not going to protect your limbs (arms/legs). At the most, its going to give some protection to your torso, so if you get into an accident, depending on the speed, it MIGHT save you a couple of cracked ribs etc, BUT your limbs are still 100% going to be at risk.
AND, its $699 retail, and almost $600 on "sale". So if you want to pay $600 for that extra 1%, peace of mind for your Torso, go ahead. Just know exactly what you are getting/protecting, and what you are not.

Marc Marquez crashed his bike at 209mph and maxed out the crash sensor at g force of 25. yes 25g. He walked away from the crash and continued to race that weekend. No doubt airbags saved his ass.
Not sure how they can offer only some quantity at a discount.
Maybe you can call and ask to price match their own product?

There was a guy at Jennings GP that crashed a while back. His hospital stay was well
over 100K for the first few days of intensive care.
If I were still doing track days or riding street daily, I would totally run one of these.
This was MotoGP unobtanium not too long ago.
Enjoy, life's ride is way too short
