You won't use them often on vehicles. The 3/4" works on a lot of lug nuts depending on what you drive. I use the standard sockets for driving lag bolts or working on my garden tractor, etc. Not something I use often, so this deal is a good one.

Stick with metric sockets for those cars.

I have the DeWalt DCF899 1/2" impact wrench. Would it be okay to use it with an adapter for these Gearwrench 3/8" sockets?

Probably not a whole lot of demand for SAE anymore. Possible uses would be old cars, construction fasteners, and small gas engine powered equipment.

Okay? Sure. Ideal? Nope

Adapters are a weak point prone to breakage, add slop that reduces torque, and increase the tool length.

I got mine from Harbor Freight. I believe it was $20 for the SAE Set. Comes with Lifetime Warranty even though it's a cheaper quality. Well, who cares, you can always exchange them if they failed. Worked well on my Toyota, Honda and Subaru. Do not use Standard Sockets on SAE Vehicles.

I figured. I'm guessing if I do some minor DIY it would be okay or if I wasn't doing a big application that required a true 1/2" socket it might pass. But understand the point why they make multiple sizes: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2"
