I thought it was a great deal until i found out that most of the parts are proprietary. Correct me if i'm wrong but even the GPU is their own custom GPU which means you can't just replace it with a full size 4070/5070 next time. There's also people complaining of thermal issues. That being said, ts a fantastic price @ $1199 for a 3070 but be aware of the limitations.

My bad, thanks.....I was thinking of the 3080 and 3090 cards I had in hand. I didn't know the 3070 were so much shorter. My son has an R7 with 1080ti (sli), so its about as good, if not better than a single 3070 (no benefit to upgrading).

My son was in the process of buying components to build a gaming system. He has already purchased a Ryzen 5600. Could he just swap the CPU or would that cause issues? Neither of us has ever built a computer and don't really have a clue as to what we're doing.

I mean, yes, in theory but it's a bad idea.

(A) This isn't a good experience for building a computer.
(B) You're going to void any warranty or have warranty issues.
(C) The motherboard needs to support the new Ryzen 5000 series and may need a bios update. What motherboard is this? How do you flash it to support new CPUs? Is dell going to tell you? Just a huge pain point here. Possibly an unpassable one.

Must be nice, but I just built a desktop and won't probably spend that kind of money on a laptop again. Any word on if the internal fans are user replaceable, as with most prebuilts this seems to be the case? And if so, does anyone have any recommendations for fans in general? Just wanted to see if that was a possibility, as many reviewers have noted that there are of course thermal limitations but also loud case fans. Just a question of curiosity to throw out there?

I was talking about gaming performance wise in FPS ect. I also know that SLI support for the older cards in extinct.

It would seem like this doorbuster is limited to air cooling is that correct? I hear that the air cooled R10 Ryzen edition tends to run hot (90+) and very loud, can anyone confirm this? I am very temped for this deal due to 3070, but a bit concerned on the thermal.

Price has changed and is now going to be $1,299 - FYI DELL SUCKS! They offer some of the worst customer support at a major company that I have dealt with.

lul. Damn they did.

You wanna hear something funny? I talked to a dell csr last night and said I wont be around on Thursday for this deal and if they would extend that to me today and they gave it to me last night for $1,230.00 (before tax) for the same system. So I already purchased it yesterday. I thought $30 over the deal price is fine. Now its cheaper than the deal price. Sick!
