I thought it was a great deal until i found out that most of the parts are proprietary. Correct me if i'm wrong but even the GPU is their own custom GPU which means you can't just replace it with a full size 4070/5070 next time. There's also people complaining of thermal issues. That being said, ts a fantastic price @ $1199 for a 3070 but be aware of the limitations.
Considering the street value of even a used 3070 is north of $800 right now, this should sell out in all of about 6 seconds.
7 replacements? Your persistence is commendable.

A very tempting deal. But alas can't justify the purchase. I already bought the Series X and PS5, and don't have that much time to game to justify a third gaming machine. My Mac mini is going strong so don't need a computer.

For those thinking that the earlier 5600X deals last month were better, it's not necessarily so. The 5600X is slightly better but then has less cores. They say since most games will be optimized for next gen consoles, and 3700X has the same number of cores, it might be a better idea to get 3700X. Plus it doesn't bottleneck the GPU anyway.

I have an R8. Almost everything is upgradable. I've upgraded the RAM, the NVME and the power supply. The video card is upgradeable as well. The PSU was a little tricky because the form factor does not fit every PSU but there are enough PSUs out there that fit fine.

So its not quite as easy as upgrading a DYI, but certainly not a deal breaker IMO.
So any good suggestion of 750W or high PSU that fit this case? And anyone tried to upgrade this to AMD 5x00 CPU?

I canceled my order and went with this 3060 ti system in case I wanted to upgrade in the future since the r10 is almost a console upgrade wise even though I'm sacrificing getting a weaker gpu.
Cyberpowerpc with 3060 ti and a 3700x

What are you looking to upgrade?
The alienware has slot to hold extra HDD, and two open pci-e slots which can also be used for even more storage.
Unless you are trying to go with SLI, there seem to be plenty of upgrade paths already on the R10.
You can even swap in your own AIO water cooler if you have only the base air cooler version.

You can also look closely at that Adorama Cyberpowerpc system. The motherboard inside is a Micro-ATX board, you don't get extra PCI-E slots.
Feels like a cheap motherboard on that CyberpowerPC, so you'd have to swap the mobo for upgradeability anyways to actually get extra PCI-E expansion slots.

So to tally it up:
Cyberpower:
pro - bigger case, more storage
con - worse GPU, B450 mobo chipset

Dell:
pro - better GPU, B550 mobo chipset
con - smaller case, less storage

Sell your Xbox Series X, PS5, and Mac Mini. Then buy this Alienware Aurora R10 and you will have a much better gaming and productivity experience.

The youtube video link is helpful.
Any gamer+pc builder can comment on this build for the price?
There are limitations with form factor as it is small in itself but there might be parts around that can bought to fit in for upgrades?

I take it that's a bad thing. Do they perform as well as other branded cards? It's ultimately up to my daughter and she's in love with the lights on the cyberpower which I paid $1200 for as well because I had $50 Best Buy rewards fixing to expire. I think I may stick with that instead of the Alienware I ordered last night for $1230. It's the worst thing about slickdeals you find something you're happy with then something else pops up and makes you start second guessing yourself. It's mainly for her to play fortnite type of games and dead by daylight. I'd like to be able to upgrade it and I think being able to upgrade the cyberpower in the future outweighs the 3070 in the Alienware which is all proprietary parts and what not. I think from now on once I buy something I'm gonna stop looking for anything else lol. Thanks for the advice and if you have any more advice I'd love to hear it! 😎
No worries. As long as you and your daughter are happy with that system that is all that matters. The only thing I can think of is in the future once getting parts is easier maybe you and your daughter can build her next computer and watch tech Youtube channels like Linustechtips, Jayztwocents, Bitwit and Paul's Hardware.

If you think you have ANY time to change options and still buy this tomorrow, you are wrong. You either buy as-is and pray or you ain't getting it.

Not being mean, thats just reality.

Thanks I built a computer about ten years ago lol it is fairly simple to do snd it's something we would enjoy doing together ❤️. I wonder if I should still keep the Alienware order and try and sell it. I'm not a scalper or anything like that but it does seem like a good deal I'm just looking for what she wants. He'll I may even just keep the Alienware for myself lol thanks again for all your advice. People like you make slickdeals a great place! I was expecting negative replies from a lot of people but you've given good sound advice so thank you very much!

Luckily I live by a microcenter and I'm going to upgrade to a 5600x and b550 and then going to upgrade my old pc with the 3700x and sell it. I plan on getting a 3080ti whenever they get released for future 4K gaming and will settle on 1080 144hz/1440 60 FPS in the meantime with these gpu shortages

Thanks! If you do decide to keep it. Try mining ETH. It might pay for itself in less than a year. I have no experience in mining but you can check the other posts of the other members here. Comments on this post might help you out.

Currently, if you go to the deal link, only the RAM and storage can be customized so I do not think you can change the cooling. Which, means you are stuck with the Low-Profile Smart Cooling CPU Heatsink using air cooling. I do not think an air cooler should be used for the CPU since airflow would be poor in this small case with the PSU located right above the CPU.
