Well, I finally pulled the trigger. My first time doing a major buy from a Slickdeals post and my first real high-end PC. I upgraded to water cooling and the 1000W power supply due to the recommendations for the 3070 cards.

Does anyone know if I can get 16GB more RAM separately that will be compatible with the RAM already in it?

Pretty good deal. I think when I was browsing Aurora R10 Ryzen refurbs the systems with 3070s mostly hovered around $1300, so this being cheaper and new feels worth it. I ended up getting a slightly better system than this with a 3080 for just over $1500 before tax, which I felt like was a decent deal, at least compared to similarly spec'ed systems by other builders. Of course it's always a risk with refurbs, but it seems fine so far.... 🤞

How much did it cost to get the 1000w?

Another $200 for the water cooling and the 1000W upgrade. A bit pricey but honestly it's worth the peace of mind for me, even if it might not be necessary.

I ended up calling and getting the computer with liquid cooling for $1230 before tax. Could have added wifi 6 for $20, but didn't since I can hardwire it. Would wifi 6 have been worth it if I have fast speeds (500 down) wired?
when did you call?

About 2 hours ago and took about 50 minutes to finish with half the time on hold since the rep said he needed approval.

okay I got disconnected and the rep called me I paid 1229 for the system 50 for the cpu water cooled upgrade and 19.60 for the wifi killer 6 card. 1410 out the door with tax I think its a good deal a used 3070 going for 1k and ryzen 7 new is 300 so I think your still way ahead of the game.

Mistakenly said single fan, its a dual fan. But...
Under product details for the alienware r10 they state they use a custom graphics.

I am confused... how is this applicable to a 3070?

Thanks for the video. Also it seems to confirm that the memory is a Dell-exclusive model and you probably can't match it with retail Kingston sticks. So if you buy 16GB now, to upgrade later you either have to go through dell or replace with all retail memory.
Do you or anyone here happens to know the SPD timings of the Dell memory. I thought as long as the SPD timings match, we can mix and match. There are only 3 major memory manufacturers out there, the rest are just rebranded, overclocked, added heat sinks, etc., so I am pretty sure we can find something that matches, no?

Thanks. hug

So if this doesn't go into effect until 2/11, and the link is dead, and the system is showing up on the site as $1699 but people are saying they ordered this for $1299 the day before it is on sale? What's the deal here?

That shows a close up of the sticker on the RAM. I see an 11 on the end so that's the CAS? I don't see anything for specific timings

I also can't say specifically if THIS is the RAM you'll receive, but it'll be the same model. He has 1 stick of 16, but people were saying we'll get 2 sticks of 8 iirc.

I ordered it via chat with liquid cooling and the killer wifi option for $1,377 with the 5% cash back on my Amazon card. I was planning on using it for gaming and video editing but I'll do mining now to try to get more money back.
