I thought it was a great deal until i found out that most of the parts are proprietary. Correct me if i'm wrong but even the GPU is their own custom GPU which means you can't just replace it with a full size 4070/5070 next time. There's also people complaining of thermal issues. That being said, ts a fantastic price @ $1199 for a 3070 but be aware of the limitations.

Considering the street value of even a used 3070 is north of $800 right now, this should sell out in all of about 6 seconds.

7 replacements? Your persistence is commendable.

I don't think they even know it. I chatted with 3 and they told me no. However, at the end they still give me the liquid cooling one.
I ordered one this afternoon. You can look for a sale representative named Rahul.

Dell has a restocking fee unless there is a problem with the item. You might get around it through reps but I personally wouldn't bet on it.
Absolutely no restocking fees if returning a system within the first 30 days

Might be true, I just could find anything saying that in their policy.

30-Day Return Period for Certain Products and Accessories:
...Note that your refund or credit may be reduced by the amount of shipping and handling fees and any applicable restocking fees (as further described below).

As far as I know they have free return shipping labels, and the rep told me no restocking fees.

In for one (did the chat option today), even if you price the parts at best case scenario ($500 video card, ~$300 CPU, etc) the computer works out to be cheaper than building it. The PC was $1230 as everyone has said, paid an extra $50 for water cooling (worth it IMO) and $20 for the Killer Wifi/Bluetooth card. So, $1300 in total.

I was worried about the expandability of it, so I did some research; ton of YouTube videos on teardowns and such. Here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOQoN_rBQlk

The tl;dr is
4 DIMM slots, only 2 are used (2x8gb) so expanding it isn't difficult.
3 2.5in slots (2 bottom, 1 in front).
1 NVMe slot on mobo (kind of a bummer)

Honestly much better than I expected, that's basically every upgrade you'd want on a pre-built. I doubt you can replace the video card in the case though, it seems to be very small (and so the video cards are custom built to be smaller by Dell)

The fans are;
1 fan on top (replaced by AIO cooler radiator/fan combo if you pick watercooling)
1 fan on front

Kind of lackluster, but it IS possible to remove the front 2.5in hard drive caddy and add another fan there, which is what I plan on doing.

Honestly, great deal, reading reviews on the case and expandability left me excited for the delivery. Which, according to them, is supposed to be in 2 weeks, since I am now a Dell Reward member (free shipping, expedited delivery, and sign up is free).
Thanks for the video. Also it seems to confirm that the memory is a Dell-exclusive model and you probably can't match it with retail Kingston sticks. So if you buy 16GB now, to upgrade later you either have to go through dell or replace with all retail memory.

Some relevent threads, which are for R11, but also makes reference to the same XN205T-MIE shown in the video:

cool. so i could toss out my old computer that i keep on 24/7 to stream content to my firesticks. then replace it with this while having it mining at the same time serve as a media streamer. is that possible? or if the computer is mining is it not able to do other tasks like streaming videos?
This is literally exactly what I do. Takes basically zero GPU power to do anything like that. You can do just about any task while still mining in the background except high end gaming/content creation/ML stuff. I run my Plex media server and a torrent server on my primary machine that I have mining 24/7, and there are absolutely zero issues.

yes, get it. I just got with same configurations. I also actually upgraded the SSD to 1TB, and power supply to 1000W, nvidia's website recommends at least 650W power supply

I ended up calling and getting the computer with liquid cooling for $1230 before tax. Could have added wifi 6 for $20, but didn't since I can hardwire it. Would wifi 6 have been worth it if I have fast speeds (500 down) wired?
