The new Leadex V Gold 1000W for $199.99 looks nice. The previous gen 1000W Leadex Platinum (SF-1000F14MP) was on sale for the same a few weeks ago (kicking myself for not getting it). So this is 80+ Gold for the same price, but it is the new one. Note that this new GOLD and the previous PLATINUM also have the same list price ($249).

I checked the 80+ rating for this [clearesult.com] and it (The Leadex V) does beat the old gen Leadex Gold by roughly 1% at all loads. This really closes the gap with the Platinum too, putting it only about 1% behind the previously on sale 1000W Platinum Leadex.

So, even though the same price as the platinum a few weeks ago, this is the next gen and does close the gap. It's also super compact.

I'd say if you were considering the Super Flower 1000W 80+platinum deal from a few weeks ago, this is worth a look.

If you buy this turn on eco-mode. It's loud without that turned on.

I had the opposite experience- bought the 850w Platinum one and with Eco mode on, the unit would stay silent for about a minute and then the fans would kick up LOUD for about 20 seconds and then shut off. It became extremely annoying so I turned Eco mode off so the fans run constantly but at a much lower volume. It's audible but not annoying and there aren't any noticeable fluctuations anymore.

I found out a very expensive lesson when I swapped in a newer power supply in our machine - do not re-use the power cables from the old power supply. Fried every one of our hard drives. Stupid mistake and wasn't thinking at the time.

What's the warranty? I went to Newegg's site and it doesn't list any warranty terms. That can't be good. I checked Superflower website and their Warranty page doesn't even list any warranty timeframes. Thumbs down for me.

I just bought a Seasonic 850 watt with a 10 year warranty this week. Looks like I didn't miss anything here...
