Costco has several Wiz lighting products/switches on sale right now. The best deal looks like it may be for the strip.

Typically the strip sells for $50. I saw it for sale for $40 over the holidays. Now it is down to $30.

If someone on slickdeals has purchased this, I'd love to ask you a question. I've searched high and low for what exactly "2m + 2m" means in this listing, but the answer does not exist online. Is it TWO 2 meter starting packing, including 2 separate power supplies? Or is it one starter pack/power supply + 2 1m extensions? If the answer is the former, this is an even better deal, although I expect it's the latter.

The cost of a 2m starter kit at other retailers is $40 and a 1m extension is $13. So the savings compared to other retailers is either 40+40-30=$50 (if kit is 2 full starter kits) or 40+13x2-30=$36 (if it is 1 starter kit + extensions.

WiZ is made by Philips, the same company that makes Hue (and Lumileds, one of the biggest LED manufacturers in the US). The brightness of these strips is equivalent to that of Philips Hue (1600 lumens/2 meters). WiZ only works via WiFi while Hue only works via a ZigBee hub. The software on WiZ is not as great as Hue, but it gets the job done. You will hear varied opinions on color quality. Some say it's the exact same as Hue, some say it's worse. But it is certainly better than the colors of the 10,000 random LED strip brands you'll find on Amazon and the like.

I'm interested in some users experiences. I have around 40 hue bulbs through my home/yard. I'd love to put these strips in my gazebo for ambiance if they are similar to hue quality in terms of color/lighting. Would be really nice if Philips had one integrated app for all these protocols so I didn't need to use google routines for everything.

I recently bought the Phillips brand bulbs with Wiz Connect tech. It hooks directly to WiFi and so far so good.
I'm not sure if the Wiz brand is being phased out or what but Phillips owns them and are beginning to sell them under their brand name.

FYI A Costco reviewer says it is 4 meters of light strip (2m + 2m), and one controller. You cannot use 2 meters each in 2 separate locations unless you buy a second controller.

Thank you!! Was searching everywhere to figure this out but I missed this.

So to edit my original post, this is likely a 2m starter kit paired with two additional 1m extensions, making the total savings $36 compared to if you went and purchased separately at Home Depot, Best Buy, Target etc at standard pricing.

Is this brand that much better than the cheap china brand ones on Amazon (e.g. Govee) where you can get like 63 ft of led lighting for like 40 and it says its wifi and Alexa/Google compatible?

I have 14 of these philips wiz candelabra bulbs in my foyer chandelier. I am hue invested but was not going to spend $50 a bulb x 14 for a chandelier. Colors are definitely not as vibrant as hue. These are also somewhat of a pain to setup ... at least in bulk. This is also operated via Wiz app, not hue app. Overall If Id rank these 0-5, 5 being hue quality it's be as follows:
Color: 3
Setup: 3.5
Integration with Alexa/google/Apple home: 5
Price: this gets a 5, hue gets a 3
App: 3

I really hate how they don't show the actual product.

What does the controller look like? Does it use a standard us plug, or is there a wall wart? Cand the 2 , two-meter sections be connected together for 4m, or do they have to go 2m in two different directions from the controller?

Hard to make a buying decision when I don't know these things.

Can these be piggy backed on 1 controller?
