Yes, you can.

go into your app, click scan/pay at bottom, then PAY ANOTHER WAY across the top. Have the cashier scan that QR code first, then the QR code from TMO. the $2 won't cover the full amount, so you'll have to pay the difference either with an app GC or cash/credit.

Method I've been using.
Buy Large Latte $4.xx -> Scan $2Ă—TM code -> Use QR code from dunkin app with preloaded GC balance for left over change. 1 less scan than using "Pay Another Way"

A regular Iced coffee is not considered an 'expresso beverage' (even if you ask them to add in an expresso shot). it sounds like you already were close in points for a free beverage and just purchasing a large iced coffee gave you enough points to earn that free beverage.

Now I haven't tried this specific offer, but if it's the same as previous offer, this offer should just give you the 'Free Beverage' in your offers tab if you made the qualifying purchase.
