That's your opinion. If a fractional gap is worth spending ~$250 more to you, more power to you. I own the air 4 and a regular ipad and even using the pencil I can't even tell there's a gap on the regular ipad.

When I look at the regular iPad's screen, there's also noticeably more glare than on my Air 4, which also has better contrast/colors. Of course it's quite a bit more expensive but the difference in display quality is not subtle.

I'd like to upgrade from my base iPad 6, but it's disappointing that Apple is now using high refresh rate as the "premium" hook to get you to drop $800 on an iPad. I bought an iPad Pro 10.5 for $450 in August 2017 with Pro Motion. There's no reason why it shouldn't be standard in a $600 iPad.

You're not wrong, the Air 4 does have an anti-reflective coating that reduces glare by about 40%.. but once you put a screen protector on it that goes out the window. Since my Air comes with me to work, it got a glass screen protector.. whomp whomp.

Faster Refresh Rate definitely matters as it's the best thing to come to mobile devices in a long time. Makes everything feel and look better. But of course it's only on the expensive Pro models.

iPad 8 has twice the memory for $150 less. Sure the screen is not as good and the cpu is a lower model but most users won't know the difference for browsing the web, playing the odd game etc.

Decide if a better screen is worth the extra cost.
