Great watch. I wear it everyday when i grabbed this for $70 off of GPS Nation. Has almost all the basic functions you could ever ask for. Only thing left wanting is music storage, but certainly not a deal breaker.

I have had the Vivoactive 3 Music for several years. I like the watch very much, but I love the Music feature. I am able to load music, podcasts and audiobooks on the watch very easily from my PC and don't have to carry my phone with me when I am walking in a nearby park.

It is the best hybrid smart watch I have had. I also like the Garmin app for tracking my steps and other things. However, a few like flights of stairs walked, are inaccurate.

My Apple Watch disagrees with your definition of bad battery life..

I've had one since Christmas 2019, and yes, it has been a real nice watch. Depending on how much I use the GPS for walking activities, I can get 3-4 days between charges. If you get a ton of notifications, battery life will be less since the backlight comes when you get a notification, but it charges quickly and seems to do a nice job at recording activities. Both the Android and iOS apps work well, too.

The always-on transreflective(?) LCD was a must for me, and it's superbly readable in bright sun.

The lack of music storage is no big deal to me since I usually have my phone with me, but that might be a deal breaker for you intense workout minimalists.

This has been a pretty regular price for the last 6 months, but I got one and love it. It's a few years old model now but it's still probably one of the better watches you will find under $100. My only complaint is the band was giving my wrist a rash when I first got it , but it seems to have cleared or calice-d up and isn't an issue anymore.

I had an alert for a garmin watch and got this for under $70 with Amazon credits. I Can't afford an apple watch and am so fed up with the quality of fitbits.

I ordered one from Amazon last month for $65 (used like new; it came like brand new).
I like it. It records activities well, android and desktop apps on windows work too. I turn off the Bluetooth feature and just syn data twice a day, so the battery lasts for longer than a week this way.

I'm not sure if I've just been unlucky, but I've had shit luck with Fitbit, Garmin, and Samsung. We're currently with Garmin but not having any better luck.

Between my wife and I:

3 Fitbits died between 12-24 months.

2 Garmins currently: - Mine is an Instinct which stopped holding a charge after 6 months, got a refurb for price of shipping. The refurb is at 8 months now, still working fine. Wife has a Vivoactive 3, it just hit 12 months and was 4 days out of warranty when we were going to contact Garmin. It fails on her runs about 20% of the time, and dies in 1 day now.

2 Samsung Gearfit 2's. One died in about 12 months, the other still sort of works to this day, but is nearly impossible to turn on sometimes.

It seems like all of these things are borderline disposable. No idea if the high end models last longer.

The battery life on your wife's garmin is alarming. I have worst luck with tech products, with them usually dying a few days after the warranty. My friend's engineer says that all these products are deliberately built to work for a specific amount of time in order to push the consumer to buy an upgrade. Not sure if it is true, but I believe him.

Seems like you should invest in an extended warranty.

Had this watch for the past two years, awesome for basic features like steps, heart rate, sleep tracking, and seeing notifications on your watch. Also waterproof and can track laps in the pool. This model cannot hold music stand alone and cannot be used for texting or other apps like an Apple Watch. The biggest perks for this watch are the comfort and battery life (about a week per charge). My biggest gripe against it was the screen brightness, even on the highest setting it was hard to see the watch face in daylight. For $100 and a basic fitness/heat rate/sleep tracker with phone notifications, this is a good deal. The recent $150 Apple series 3 Black Friday deals were similar to this, although Apple watch is more for using with apps and the battery life needs recharged almost daily. So depends on how much you intend on using the watch or what features you want.

Fyi, the backlight is configurable. I have mine off permanently.

I bought one over a year ago on SD for $130 I think. I always get compliments about it and most are people with square smart watches, they like the round better. Great watch.
