This is just how Samsung's website works. They allow you to choose any of those student, military, work discount and show the discount applied on page 1. As you move to the next page, it asks you to login, that's when it does the check behind the scenes and drop the discount without any warning/message if doesn't find you qualify for the discount. You got to be very careful with these discounts otherwise you will easily miss this.
