Leaving a jump pack in the trunk or in the car for over a year or more and expecting it to work in a tight spot is foolish.
These jump packs should never be left in the trunk as many cars have no key locks for the trunk and they rely on power for lock/unlock/open/close.
So, in these cases the jump pack will not be accessible unless the rear seats fold down and you can crawl in there to find the jump pack.
Best to leave these jump packs inside the car, under the seat or glove box, readily available.

this thing is a chunk but is dead simple to use, just hook up the cables, don't even need to turn it on. I've used it on 3 different vehicles in the past month and its been perfect. Helping my mom move to an old folks apartment when it was -10 degrees and while i was there, was able to help 3 old timers get their dead cars back on the road.
