NOTE: This rebate does not make it FREE, only about half price. The title stating FREE is misleading.

Similarly, my son told me that the COVID vaccine has a microchip in it so the government will be able to track us and control our brains even more than they already do. Not going to do that one either. Whew.

If you can get the Ultra Platinum for $22x2, then it's probably worth it.
That said, does anyone have hard numbers that show that ultra is meaningfully better, and if so for what kinds of cars and under what kinds of conditions? If at all, I bet it's for Vettes, Porsches and the like, driven to their limits on a sustained basis. Which is maybe 1% of the population, if that, and even then mostly when raced.
The title is misleading for people that glance at them and not read letter by letter thinking of the meanings. I guess you have to read this like Chinese characters, lol.
Anyways, what are people buying?
Can I get something like this 3pk at Walmart for $30 and claim this rebate?

I checked with Shell Gift card, they never expire. I actually had one from few years back which also has $22 on it.
2 x $22 - $22 = $11/5qt is not a deal, even with tax bringing it up a tad?!?
Jugs that are normally $22-25 - are now $11 (50% off) and it's lukewarm.

With amazon for 5-20 I am seeing $25 per 5-qt,
Spend $50+Tax on 10qts get $22, net price $28
This deal from costco is 20qts for $55 or 10qts for 30

I'm not an oil snob and this deal is not worth the hassle

Seriously, most folks are probably best off getting the cheapest decent oil they can find, treating their cars well, and changing the oil and filter at proper intervals. For higher-end cars, though, or ones driven to their limit or under adverse conditions, it might make sense to spend a bit more for the high-end stuff, so they last longer and run better.

Kirkland brand meets or exceeds all the industry standards that would make it decent. Most people should do as you suggested and focus mainly on sticking to proper intervals, but their choice of oil being Kirkland won't make their "engine fall off," which I'm guessing you mean to seize-up, leak, or generally malfunction.

Last year it was free after rebate, so OP is playing with the wording to intentionally mislead most. Kind of funny for OP to do that but I guess he/she has lots of time to play a joke on SDers or works for PENNZOIL to increase sales.
