One thing I noticed on the fine print was that the oil sold in packs do not qualify for the rebate.

Thanks for the warning.

Similarly, my son told me that the COVID vaccine has a microchip in it so the government will be able to track us and control our brains even more than they already do. Not going to do that one either. Whew.

Now have to buy 2 of the 5quarts to receive gift card. Not as slick as it once was.

Most definitely, and didn't the U.S. take some oil from Iran recently that was embargoed somewhere? So they have even more crude oil we can't do anything with right now with the refineries shutdown. Is anyone else feeling like moving off-the-grid and swearing-off modern society? What's the point anymore with Covid restrictions, winter storms, and expensive oil changes...

Oil prices BRN00, 0.12% continued higher, after U.S. prices CL.1, 0.20% settled above $60 on Wednesday as freezing conditions kept refineries in Texas closed and production disrupted.

In our call of the day, Commerzbank analysts said commodities were "completely detached from reality," noting that oil prices in particular were being unmoved by news that would typically move them lower. The recent upswing in metals prices was also starting to look "excessive," they added.

"Nothing seems capable of halting the surge in oil prices at present," said energy analyst Carsten Fritsch, noting that Brent has made gain in 14 of the last 15 trading days, climbing by roughly $10 in three weeks. A number of developments are being ignored, he said, including reports that higher prices have prompted the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to consider gradually ramping up oil supply from April, and the likelihood that Saudi Arabia won't extend its voluntary production cuts beyond the end of March.

"This selective perception is characteristic of markets in phases of excess," Fritsch added. "Normally oil prices should have responded to such news by falling significantly because this will probably see up to 1.5 million additional barrels of crude oil reach the market per day in April," he said.

The Pennzoil rebate system was freaking out yesterday but finally got the rebate through. I found two 5qt 5w-30 jugs at Walmart for ~$23 each.

Thanks OP.

Oil threads are fun.
Anecdotal, empirical, and scientific is all blurred together.
Do you have proof of that or is this just your opinion? You're not the boss of oil!

LMAO

So someone else personal preference doesnt align with yours they are stupid? Thats pretty stupid to say.
When that person is wrong and trying to use their wrong opinion as fact, yes, that's pretty much a standard definition of stupid. LMAO

You're just digging yourself a deeper hole. You said all oils are the same. It's literally there in your comment. The rest is just a lame attempt to backtrack or cover, like requiring 100% certainty for test results to be useful, which is nowhere true in the real world. Just stick to what works for you and leave the armchair expertise at home with the remote and Doritos.
Ay dawg, all pop/soda is pop/soda. Mt. Dew is the same as Pepsi is the same as Barq's root beer is the same as Ginger Ale.

No, it wasn't. It was somewhere around 21-23.
It does sometimes fall to around $14. They did around April 1st of last year, but that was after the promotion. Also it was not an April fools joke.

Agree to disagree. You said I said ALL oils are the same which I didnt. Then comparing canola then Porsche to Malibu. Show me the proof the premium brands are better and I'll spend the extra cost. Oil/car forums there are arguments on both sides comes down to what works for each individual/needs no right or wrong answer...personal preference.

I think I'm down to my last $12 jug of PUP. Those were the days.
wasn't as sweet of a deal, but I loaded up on magnatec on BF - it just runs so smooth and quiet in my car, but never see castrol deals like pennzoil. meanwhile, I could have gotten $15
(before rebate) 5qt containers a couple times now since november and I still didn't bite. It's fine, but my car doesn't benefit from it any more than the $15 store brand synthetic/blend.

They finally included Walmart this time. Last time got rejected as they were very strict based on their retailer list so make sure it is FYI.

I just wish they make their 10w-30 PUP cheaper. It's at a ridiculous 36$ per 5qts....
