One thing I noticed on the fine print was that the oil sold in packs do not qualify for the rebate.

Thanks for the warning.

Similarly, my son told me that the COVID vaccine has a microchip in it so the government will be able to track us and control our brains even more than they already do. Not going to do that one either. Whew.​

Thought I had found a sweet deal. Walmart lists a three pack of five quart bottles of 0W20 for $30. But after adding it to the cart, the price jumps to ~$65.

I'm still sitting on a stock pile from last year when it was buy 5 quarts and get a 22 dollar gift card.

Last time they offered this, you only needed to buy 5 quarts, making the oil effectively free. Unless there's a solid oil deal you can pair this with, it only brings your oil cost down by half, which at this point is normal. Synthetic oil is routinely on sale for around $2 a quart so I don't bite anymore unless I need it now. If it's less than $2/qt then you have my attention

Yikes... The price of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is really expensive at the moment. It's literally almost twice as much per 5 quart jug as it was a year ago. Unless it drops significantly before this rebate time-frame ends I'm going to have to pass this time around.

Looking like it's $24.97 at my store. Was it really like 12-13 bucks a jug last year without a rebate? I normally try to stay on top of these with the amount of vehicles at my house, can't believe I missed that!.

Sort of. There was a brief window where walmart online had it on sale for less than $17. I went to local store and had them price match the online price. Within hours it was back up to $20something +.

FYI that I tried to submit the rebate, but the page errored on the "READING YOUR RECEIPT..." step.

I tried uploading Amazon's invoice in both PDF and PNG formats, but both broke the page with cryptic server messages.

Maybe the site is broken...or maybe my corporate intranet is blocking something.

Regardless of the fact that the rebated used to be $22 on 5quarts, this is still a good deal. Wallyworld is selling Ultra-Syn for $22 per 5 qt jug. Assuming the rebated goes through, I would be paying $11 per jug (plus tax) for very good motor oil.

Btw, I assume the "Shell gift card" can be used anywhere to purchase just about anything vice just be used at Shell? I ask because I never buy my gas there. Thanks!
