Good deal. Looks like this was $90 a few months ago on woot. $80 in January on Amazon and last year it was $75 on front page. Might not see that price ever again though.

Of course we'll see that price again eventually. Just maybe not within the next year or two. Memory will always trend downward, despite the AI inflation cost.

It was just $65 on walmart with coupon for the SanDisk 512gb microexpress version. The samsung is not a good price.

Mobile devices will never add external storage back to their flagships because the buyers are sheeple and shareholders couldn't live with us not paying a subscription for storage.

They are hoarding memory so their data center competitors can't have it and we as consumers are catching strays, maybe I got that backwards maybe companies like Nintendont and Apple actually enjoy that they have an excuse to astronomically raise prices, they can raise prices multiple times a year. They gave us the middle finger when the stupid tariffs were declared illegal.

I'm still trying to figure out who these data centers will even serve if they push all of us common consumers out of the market with there hoarding strategies.

Though Nintendo has kept their Nintendo-branded 256gb card at $60 since the Switch launched, before the prices started going up. Nintendo would actually be hurt by these prices, as they don't make money from selling memory cards, and if people can't afford expansion storage for the Switch 2, they would buy fewer games.

That said, I agree with your sentiment and not sure why you're getting thumbed-down. The government needs to go after the memory company cartel that is artificially constraining manufacturing supply.
