covetous - Feeling, expressing, or characterized by a strong or immoderate desire for the possessions of another.
They are hoarding memory so their data center competitors can't have it and we as consumers are catching strays, maybe I got that backwards maybe companies like Nintendont and Apple actually enjoy that they have an excuse to astronomically raise prices, they can raise prices multiple times a year. They gave us the middle finger when the stupid tariffs were declared illegal.

That said, I agree with your sentiment and not sure why you're getting thumbed-down. The government needs to go after the memory company cartel that is artificially constraining manufacturing supply.
The memory makers have their full capacity sold out for future quarters as it is. They are not holding back capacity whatsoever. They are in fact trying to increase output and the only to do that is to build new fabs/implement new processes and equipment in existing fabs, neither of which is a fast process. New fabs also require new highly skilled workforce which is in short supply globally.
What they could be doing is balancing out the supply instead of increasing consumer cost literally 5x-10x.
But the reason is simple they can't do and it's just pure greed.
If they collected a sh!tload of data from our browsing history and device metadata, imagine what they're collecting now with ongoing daily chatbot interactions...
But as long as the leash is convenient, we don't consider it a leash.
Who does it serve? That part should be clear - definitely not everyday users.
Often times the same people that complain don't exercise this rule. I sadly think the sheeple population has grown so large it prevents a good ole crash of markets. Sad because that is sometimes what it takes to right a market and those who are disciplined can capitalize on it.
Yeah yeah, some don't have a choice but often there is a big misconception of what a "need" is. Get out and ride a bike... And don't do it with a video camera on. It will be a freeing experience.
