Good deal! I jumped on this one about a month ago at this price. There are a few more options out there with this configuration at this price point at the moment, but there are a few things with this one that make it a little more desirable for me.
* The chassis - Unlike other options from Dell and Lenovo this is a mostly metal chassis with only the bottom being plastic.
* 120Hz display - I've seen some 90Hz, but not 120. The color reproduction may not be as high, but for competitive gaming the higher refresh can be a huge boon.
* Easy to update - I can't speak about the other systems, but I can attest that there are about 12 screws to remove and then you'll have easy access to the M.2 SSD (2 slots, 1 occupied) and the memory (2 slots, 1 occupied).
* CPU - Ryzen 5 compared to i5, which performs more like a desktop i3. Benchmarks are not a good indicator for me usually, but for the CPU they tend to be spot on in this case. Ryzen 5 outperforms the i5 in just about every benchmark and in my use it's been fantastic.

The system games pretty well too. I run MSFS 2020 at high settings at 1080p and I get 25 - 30 fps which is pretty amazing for the budget GPU this is running. The CPU plays a big role in making up for the underpowered GPU.

One note in all of the above, the first thing I did was pick up another 8GB memory and utilized the dual-channel capabilities of the Ryzen CPU. This is the single best update you can make on this machine that will boost the performance.

That's a $300 price difference. There is almost always a better value proposition if your budget is unlimited. For some people, 599 is luxury.

Would this be a good computer for say, photo/video editing, excel, etc. Probably wouldnt be using it as a gaming pc. I'm just in the market for a new work computer m, that I can do some photo/video editing.

I believe the screen is somewhere between 250 and 300 nits. It's probably a little dimmer than my main monitor, but it's not very noticeable in my environment. Photoshop with large images is fine. I just started brushing up on my photography and have been working with raw image files which can certainly get pretty large. Not to mention 4K 60Hz video editing. I've had no issues with either.
