Is this cage any good?
It's just great. If you're tall maybe not so much. I'm not tall and I can't do over head press because the bar will touch the top of the cage. Other than that it's solid. The pulley attachment is very useful and works great as well but it's not as easy to put together as the cage is.

I've had my eye on it for a while. Just haven't pulled the trigger. Thanks for your input.

I have this rack and lat attachment. My $.02: The rack is great, and the lat attachment is great. If I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't buy the lat attachment.

The weight plates go on standard weight sleeves. I'm sure you can put Olympic weight plates on it like a previous commenter mentioned, but it would be really noisy. I got some Olympic adapter sleeves for $15 shipped (each, you had to buy 2) so that I can just use my Olympic plates. The low lat bar attachment is functional, but given time, the attachment point will eventually wear thin and break, I imagine. There's no bearing, and the bar is hollow.

My biggest problem with the lat attachment is the fact that it does stick so far out the back. I have limited space in my garage, so this reduces my usable space even more. One side benefit of this is that it stabilizes the rack, and will probably allow you to set up for bench or squat on the outside of the rack if you want to live dangerously.

The rack is a good budget starter rack. The uprights are 2"x2" with 1" pin holes. This makes it harder to find accessories, as most of the good ones are designed for 3"x3" uprights with 1" pin holes. Do yourself a favor, and get a roll of UHMW tape to put on the included "j-hooks" so they don't scratch up your bar. Better yet, buy yourself a real j-hook set with UHMW plastic protectors, and a longer backing. The paint scratches off very easily.

Finally, I took off the pin safeties, and bought a set of Titan Fitness X-2 safety straps. These are amazing! They are stronger than the included safeties, and will not damage your bar. They are also more adjustable, so that you can get the safeties at just the right height.

Can you bench inside the rack with this cable pull attachment?
It seems like it would get in the way of your bench placement.

I was eyeing this for a few weeks. If was sold out for awhile. Finally, it was back in stock last week for $259 at https://fitnessreality.com/fitnes...ttachment/
I knew then Amazon will have it in stock shortly after for $229 or less.
Eventually, I settled for one of the DIY ones. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NDQYV25
I hooked it up to the top bar of 810XT rack. Only had it for a few days but so far, it's working well for me.

You can definitely do it outside the cage. I just set up the j hooks on the outside.

Thank you for the feedback. Which Olympic sleeve adapters did you get and was the $15/ea price pre-Covid?

far superior using much more weight
Pull-ups can be substituted up to your body weight using resistance bands. If you can pull more than your weight, you can use weight plates and a dipping belt.

Having said that, lat pulldown does offer more variety in targeting some areas with different handles and isolation exercises.

u sure that price isnt for just the lat attachment and not the cage?
Cage and last pull-down combined is $449. Lat pull only is $229. Cage only is $265.

I own this. Lat-pull down is a nice add-on accessory for this cage, but I'll offer a few criticisms:

1. The leg hold gets in the way of where I would typically place my bench and bar, so I had to move the bench and bar to the front of the cage. For this setup, I simply added a couple of j-hooks and spotter arms to the front of the cage and added a couple of weight plate holders to the back of the cage, where I put extra weight to ensure the cage doesn't tip forward. Obviously there are other ways to accomplish this same goal (e.g. sandbags, bolting cage to floor...), but something to be aware of.
2.) The hole spacing on the 810XLT is 3", so depending on the height of your flat bench, it can be difficult to get the leg hold at the perfect height level for lat pulls.
3.) The lat pull holds standard 1" weights, so you'll need to add olympic sleeve convertors if you use olympic weights.
4.) If you own this cage and have the pull-up bar upside down to accommodate low ceiling height, this won't work for you any more, because the lat pull attaches to the top of the pull-up bar (as seen in the pictures) and requires the pull up bar to be installed in the upright, normal position.

Yes, you can. It's the only way to use the safeties. You take off that bar with the padded foam rolls if you're going to bench.

I got the Bodycraft ones. They're out of stock now, unfortunately.
