Do credits end if you swap SIM after day 61? Interesting the longer you keep the line, the cheaper the phone is. I'm committed to Mint 6 months till June I think so I'd probably jump after 61 days. If I can swap SIM card to Mint after 61 days I'd be down to keep it for a while. But like most, it's hard to put in a drawer for months and not use if I'm already on another plan. Still, tempting.

i'm not sure the day 61 thing i read on the Google Fi subreddit as they said if you pull out sim card for even a minute during those 60 days you broke the terms and get charged the full amount for the phone. they also said not to rely on Fi credits since Google has a habit of not honoring those. either way expect to pay $75 for the phone and cancel service on day 61 and jump or keep fighting with Google past day 61 till they give you the $49 Fi credit.

So... can I just order the G Power for $50 and put a different sim card in? The website looks like you can just order the phone for $50 no strings attached.

Still got to qualify for the $200 new/existing customer discount, which requires 60 days of service. You'd get a nice surprise charge doing it your way.

Since T-Mobile and Sprint have merged, not sure what value Google Fi brings, given there are so many cheaper MVNOs in the market.
I have yet to find a better carrier for extensive international travel. But I realize that's something that most people don't need.

MetroPCS also has a deal. I picked one up last night, $20 for the phone, $20 for activation, $40 for one month unlimited service prepaid, $28 tax and fees. Ordered and unlock code for $11. I can post back if anybody wants to know how it goes.

Not to pee on your deal OP, looks great if Fi works for you. I've had a problem with runaway data when I've used them multiple times.

Metro phone has minimal bloatware 128 gigs memory, 6 gigs ram.

When I check out it asks me for $0. So my guess is that it's pretty much free but if you cancel, you will have to pay in full?

Metro PCS are all locked phones. Google Fi phones are unlocked. BIG difference there as most just want the phone not the service.

Moto G? You should be OK with the unlocking code. That's a good price too. Think I paid $30 a while back.

1st, Unlock code or not it is not the same as a factory unlock phone, unless you can change the phone firmware to an unlock retail version
2nd, Metro Phones uses unlock software, there are no codes. Have you actually done an unlock with a code? Did you actually get the phone unlock?
