Deal Details
Best Buy has the 70" VIZIO M-Series TV M706x-H3 [bestbuy.com] on sale for $649.99 + Free Shipping for most, or select store pickup. This matches the previous FP deal.

RTings here [rtings.com] state that There's a Black Friday variant that's only available at a 70" size, which has slightly reduced features, such as three HDMI ports instead of four. It likely has a different local dimming zone count, though we haven't been able to confirm it.

Specifications here [vizio.com] indicate that it has the V-Gaming Engine and says nothing about Local Dimming Zones, so this is likely a lower end set than the 65" M7 (but the price may still be right).

User Manual here [vizio.com].

Pros:Cons:
  • May not have local dimming.
  • V-Gaming Engine instead of P.
  • Has HDMI 2.1 inputs, but 60 Hz native, and no VRR.

I own the 2019 version of the TCL 4-series 75" Roku TV and this 70" Vizio M-series.

Overall, I like the size and function of the TCL better in just about every way except WiFi connectivity. The TCL has annoyingly weak WiFi for some reason, but the Roku interface is a far more pleasant experience than the Vizio.

The Vizio occasionally locks up to the point I have to unplug the power to reset it (i.e. the regular power button doesn't reset it fully). Also, while the SmartCast software is much improved over older Vizio sets, it is still very glitchy. It's common for the TV to randomly return to the SmartCast home screen in the middle of watching a show on Netflix, YouTube, etc. Probably happens 1-2 times per week.

Do I recommend the Vizio? Certainly...it's a nice set with some advanced features for gaming/movie watching and a great display. That said, I'll probably replace it with a 5-series or 6-series TCL or possibly a Hisense once a deal pops up on one of those.

It's Best Buy lol their deals don't last long typically a day or two for most good deals from what I've noticed over the years so when you see best deals grab them

i own this tv and another M series. Although the picture Quality on them is great, and even the interface for the apps and etc aren't too bad...... this tv is glitchy. With my Samsung I never had a problem playing an app, on these certain apps freeze up when using. More importantly though if you are a gamer, both this Tv and last years M series have some weird glitch where the screen blacks out for no reason although you can still hear the sound. This glitch is really annoying, and although it was fixed temporarily it still blacks out from time to time which for me is unacceptable. I'll be overpaying for my samsungs in the future, fool me once Vizio shame on you, fool me twice....you aren't gonna fool me again!

I've never personally had a problem ignoring the Smart TV's OS and relying on media players whether that's a Playstation/Xbox or a Roku Box. But I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.

Part of the problem is I have two Xbox ones and both of them black out for a few seconds when I play games. I am on the same bandwagon about the os, but when the tv's os is crappy AND it glitches on the device replacing the os features it really.makes me not want to own it. I only bought Samsung b4 these and I guess thats what I'll be buying in the future.
