I think this deal was available last week and I kicked myself for pulling the trigger.
Q for y'all - should I go for it or are there other deals out there that are better for this size and price point?

I went with the Vizio based off the rtings comparison tool. Getting it today!

Your comparison is for the Vizio M7. The model in this thread is an M6, which RTINGS hasn't reviewed. The M6 is basically a V Series with Quantum Color Technology added.

This is true. I have this TV and I don't know if I would get it again. Picture is great, but it has V-series features and I am experiencing lots of bugginess with the SmartCast OS, including glitching to the home screen while streaming youtube, netflix, etc. and occasional freezing that requires the TV to be unplugged from the outlet to fully reset (power button stops responding).

same experience with last year M65. Vizio TVs have the worst software I have ever seen.

I would go with Vizio bc they have apple airplay capability
