Has anyone ever tried calling amex and having them manually add it? I tried through live chat and they said to call since they would have "more refined access to check the offer". I doubt they would, but I'm curious if anyone has ever tried? Thanks!

I have 100 back on 100 through platinum. Wonder if I could split a 600$ charge on two cards and get $200 off 600?
Yes you can split payments on Dell

I placed an order for a monitor that won't be shipped until March 9th and a webcam that looks like it will ship in the next day or two. Dell split the charges on the AMEX, so it didn't trigger the $500 threshold that would result in an email confirming I did the offer for the $100 credit. I did apply a newsletter 10% coupon, but I assume that doesn't affect the AMEX offer.

The offer says in one or more transactions. Does that mean that they will add up the transactions and give me the credit when everything posts?
This happened to me before and I called AMEX and they did a manual credit.

Just as heads up my last order from Dell I placed at end of December, it didn't even arrive until this past week for 2 powerline adapters that were in stock.

Not I'm going to have to call AMEX to see if they can retro credit me from the last $100 promotion bc it didn't charge me until after the promo ended... seemed suspect.
I would do a chat because this happened to me and told them I could provide a receipt of purchase where it showed all purchased together and they did a manual credit for me.

Thanks for the heads up on a deal I actually got. One other deal I did get was $50 off of $50 or more at Best Buy. The obvious advantages to that deal is the much lower threshold and the much wider variety of products to choose from. Also this deal excludes the Dell Outlet whose products come with the same warranty as regular Dell products at a decent discount . So the extra $50 makes Dell an interesting option but it would have to be a direct apples to apples equivalent product to make this deal useable.

Can the 500 include taxes?

The Inspiron laptop I am looking for is around 485 and with taxes come to 515. Does this still trigger 100 credit?

Yes. Total should be $500 after taxes.

Can you split payment on dell.com? Is it easy?
Yes you can, don't recall the limit, but last time I did two cards (very easy, their system is already set up so that you can configure how much to put on each card) for same scenario of amex offer.

(Sorry if this is a digression)
I'm thinking of using this for Inspiron 15 5000 laptop. I'd be grateful if somebody can answer the following:

1. Based on the prior negative comments about Inspirons, is there build quality no better than budget laptops from Evoo/Gateway/Asus? (Not trashing these brands, but just getting a reference).

2. Is it safe to say that Inspiron 15 5000 doesn't have an open slot for adding another SSD? (I couldn't figure out from their specs)

Thanks in advance!
So I was eyeing a Inspiron 5505 (Ryzen based) on Dell outlet yesterday. Only comes with a single 8 gig stick and a 256 MB SSD. It has a 2nd RAM slot which is easy and it appears to indeed have an extra M.2 slot as well. HOWEVER it is missing the mounting hardware. There are some reddit discussions about which parts are needed or some hacks others have used such as a standoff screw glued into place. So short answer, yes you can add a 2nd SSD, just might be a little bit of work.

As for Inspiron build quality etc. I can't imagine they are any worse than any others. Frankly I think Dell shares alot of parts, including chassis among their high and low end product lines.

For my personal experience I have two old 2nd gen core i5 Latitudes that my daughter has (one for here and one for her Mom's) that she was using for distance learning. I have two beast of machines (physically), 4th gen core i7 Precision (M4600???) desktop replacement machines. And all 4 are running as good as new.

One of the reasons I like having Dells laying around is that I've built up a collection of their power adapters over the years making it easy to plug in wherever, find a power brick, etc.

Oh forgot my thanks to the OP. I still have a Amex Blue Everyday so I checked. Unfortunately I did not see the offer. So I added like 30 random ones and will check back. Kinda in the market for a modern, lighter, travel size machine.

Thanks for your response Smilie ! Will help me zero-in on my pick.
BTW, not sure if you were looking for your Inspiron in relation to this deal. But just in case you were not aware, this deal excludes Dell outlet.
