I had a GTRacing chair and the butt pad went flat in a month. The return process wasn't bad and free through amazon. I took everything apart and put it back into the original box and shipped it off with the provided shipping label.

I would not recommend this chair. I am around 230 lbs.

GTRACINGS smaller chairs (like this) are great if you are the right size for them.
However, if you are anywhere near 6ft+ (6'4" here) you want to look into their premium chairs.
I went with the ACE series for a few reasons, its bigger, studier foam, longer warranty, and a fabric finish so its easier to clean and not as slippery.

Thanks for sharing your personal preference.

I looked into the Ace model you mentioned, not too crazy expensive.

May I ask if you've got a good Source for an Ace? Both price and/or reputable Seller?

And what trim level of Ace did you get (and liked), please?

6'4" too, 240# ... need something for my "fat ass", as the other Comment highlighted Wink

Thanks in advance 👍👍

I got the Ace-S1 Gray, from GTRacing directly. You get a longer warranty from them.
Not sure if the link will go through, SD gets picky: https://gtracing.com/products/ace-s1-gray

The S1 is rated to 290 pounds, and I think the M1 is rated to 350.

I wonder y m1 is more expensive .... but looks .. "average"(?)

I'm actually happy you vouched for the S1, even my kids will be impressed with my choice 🤣😂🤣😂

Thanks again Smilie

I have it and its a great chair. I am about 165 5'9. If your a fatass, its a def. NO GO. The cushion is not huge enough for the big boys/girls.
Its a bad fad, no design justification, sold on misunderstanding, add bonded leather and its just wasteful filler for land fill.

Completely agreed. There is an excellent Dexley from Staples on the Front Page right now for an amazing price. Just get that one and you won't regret it.

Really? My Hyken just arrived yesterday and I'm actually sitting in it now. I like the design and I really want to like the chair, but I really don't like the mesh on this thing. It's rough and more of a plastic feel like a patio chair. The lumbar support doesn't have that much padding either so after sitting in it for a while I start to feel the pressure. I'm only 5'6 165lbs so I think I might have to return it.

Sounds like a personal preference. I also was hesitant and very critical of it at first and felt strange in the lower back. After the break-in period things got better, though.
I am 5'10" 210 and its been working for me fine. The mesh is definitely not the best, but I also have a Herman Miller Aeron and either I'm not too picky or I just don't have too many qualms with it.

Thanks for the review, I am having this problem with all these "gamer" chairs. But goes flat, cylinders break, and back rest snaps.

All poor quality.

Since its on Youtube, it must be true!
The logic on gaming chairs was always true, bucket seats were designed for cars, not desks, and in a car you are basically sitting on the floor. nod

They jumped on the racer craze and promoted it into a marketing win, but it was never based on anything functional let alone ergonomics. Finally office chair innovations are starting to trickle down as aeron becomes more of the target for leading the way, the racer craze is over.

As for reviews, other than consumer reports what else is there, and how few people actually buy enough new chairs to have a fair comparison. The truth has to be self funded like with techlead or incidental like with gamers nexus furnishing their office for such things.

i had similar experience as well with 220lbs body. also it was a bit challenge for me to break the chair into pieces so hammered with all my power to break it into parts. chair is not good for heavy people.

I, too, have one of these chairs. The padding does go flat after a couple months. It also makes your bottom sweat as there's not much breathability with the faux-leather cushion, which is probably the biggest thing I am peeved about.
