I purchased this monitor for $309 from Amazon (Sold and fulfilled by Amazon) last Friday.
I received it today (Monday) and I'm pleased by it.
ViewSonix XG2705 is a 27" 1440p 144hz IPS gaming monitor with FreeSync. I'm using it with a G-sync Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics card and so far, so good.
This monitor is now $294.14 (sold and fulfilled by Amazon, with an easy return policy depending on the buyer's geography/location).
- $294.14 from Amazon itself. (Free Returns)
I think this could be a great budget monitor without sacrificing quality @ 2k resolution, 144hz and 27". It really hits the sweet spot for the current graphics card market as well.
4k gaming at 144hz is not realistic for most at this time due to cost and hardware issues.
2k gaming at 144hz at 27" is a great place to be at the moment.
Haven't seen any IPS glow issues or dead pixels with this monitor so far. Testing it in a dark room and playing Overwatch so far. So far, so good.
Recommended.

I agree, 2k gaming @ 144 Hz is the sweet spot for a lot of gamers out there.

The xg2705-2k has a stand allowing height adjustment. I had also looked at the vx2768-2kp-mhd as the primary specifications seem to be the same. Having a stand with height adjustment is a big deal for me. Also the previous iteration of the 2768 had a flickering issue. Not sure if this has been fixed.
