i have this and a ksger t12 their both about the same price and the ksger outperforms this in every single way heat up time and large joints +the fact that you can buy different tips for about 3 bucks each.. and b4 anyone says i have the wrong power going to the ts100 i am ruining it at 24v off my bench supply that i can also adjust the amps anyway i like
I'm not sure it's comparable. I don't have a ksger t12 but it looks like a standard iron. Many use the ts100 as an ultra portable tool. Sure I have a full station with a nice iron and hot air but I don't expect to cart that around to make quick repairs. The ts100 is clutch here.
This iron uses hakko tips.

Still need to add something to get to 50.00 for free shipping. solder would bring it to about 52.00 or so. Not bad. Close to the same price from Ebay sellers for same TS100.

Good deal imo. Paid about this much for just the iron and one top shipped from china 3ish years ago. It's by far the best iron I've ever used. I don't touch my $200 Weller anymore since this outperforms it in heat up time and soldering time. I would carry this in my backpack in college and use an adapter on my 65w laptop charger to run it. You need to power this off of atleast 20v for it to shine.

I use my KSGER t12 several times a week, and will confirm it is a better solution for a benchtop setup for a better price. But, I would say this TS100 clone is not for bench work. You can't beat it's size and power for any work on the go.

Everybody else seems to call this the TS80 or TS100. Or am I missing something?

I bought one recently on woot for 59.99 and I even made a dyi power cord to use with a pd power bank to make this iron portable. This is a great price.

I have to agree with the validity of the comparison. For a lot of people the ksger t12 is about the same portability since the ksger controller and the ts100 power brick are similar sizes. In my case I use my laptop ac adapter on the ts100 so the soldering iron basically takes no space. Good for when I don't think I need one.

From everything I've seen, the KSGER T12 is still a mains-powered, benchtop soldering iron. It's quite a bit more compact (and cheaper) than the more traditional benchtops from Metcal / Weller / Hakko / JBC, but it's still more of a benchtop solution than the TS100 and similar.

Sure, you could probably DIY a solution to bypass the power supply and feed it 24V DC on the LV side, but it still wouldn't have near the same portability as the TS100 and similar. The PRO32 form factor is meant to replace the old portable butane or clunky battery powered (ala Milwaukee M12) soldering irons, not a mains powered benchtop setup.

Personally, I found a few shortcuts in the KSGER T12 that put me off a bit. The chassis isn't grounded, and the IEC connector is bridge soldered [wordpress.com] to the main board. The tip is grounded, technically making it ESD safe, but the shortcuts were somewhat concerning making me hesitate working around ESD sensitive components.

Was really thinking about a TS100 for my LED projects.
Went ahead and got this with the $10 off coupon and the power supply bundle.

Now that I already hit buy, any reason I should have gotten the TS100 instead? lol

Was thinking something like this:
