Seems like a good deal. I can't find these at a decent price other places.

Irrelevant comment but I got super lucky and snagged one for $100 used but was all rusted and paint peeling. Little work and some new paint got it back to new.

Keep an eye on Craigslist or Facebook market place. Might get lucky if you're on a budget.

Secondipity is legit. It is the store returns arm of Liquidity Services, the biggest commercial liquidation company in the country. You might be more familiar with their surplus site, www.liquidation.com [liquidation.com] .

I've been trying to decide if I want to get a CNC setup and this is the perfect "try this first" tool for what I'm looking to do. Thanks!!!

I guess I don't understand your comment...
I have both and they are nothing alike.
Are you buying a scroll saw to see if you like designs in general?
Both tools require different skill sets, but the CNC will make a scroll saw obsolete once you understand how to design on a computer.
The scroll saw can be faster if you are more artistic with your hands.

I understand Ryobi and Dewalt is not apples to apples but for those looking for an entry-level scroll saw Direct Tools has this model for $75:

I bought one of these second hand and appearance-wise it looks great but there is a loud knocking inside the arm and I can't figure out what it is. Doesn't effect the functionality just a little noisy.

I opted to dilly dally til it went out of stock. Crisis averted.
