So for the same amount of money I can make three purchases to have a computer with less ram. How is that better?
The i3 is a little bit better than the 7000 series i5 but yes I dunno if I think that I would go with that over this.

I thought they stopped manufacturing ROM drives a decade ago, since it would be just a few extra dollars to include the recording feature.

I think we're living in a technologically spoiled age where old-gen computers are robust enough to run a multitude of tasks. I can find uses for any of these machines if I cared to spend the electricity for them. For the past few months, I've been using my old Core Duo laptops just as much as my "old" i7 (gen 4).
But it was 6 years ago and cost me (before update) $199 free shipping. Keep in mind back in '15 it was new CPU.
Nowaday deals for basically same kind of 5th-7th gen systems which cost near $400 when you can catch a deal for let say Dell 10th gen with decent GPU for $500+ - that kind of surprised me.
