The difference between the old and the new is the packaging box. They're almost identical except of their price difference.
C7000-100NAS was listed on Amazon last June 18, 2015 and the newer Model: C7000-1AZNAS was listed last December 15, 2017.

Reliable wifi~all areas of the House now "work" multi devices @ a time + this is "not" the "top" operating speed ~of the device nor a top speed cable Internet service ~with Very Old cable in a Very old home~& Under a Metal Roof! Seriously for us this is Absolutely Amazing! Definitely worth it.

Although this device is capable of 800+mbps Download speed, realistically on the Xfinity Gigabit plan, the Download speed will be around 500-600 mbps and the Upload speed will be around 4-6 mbps.
Compare this with a 2.5gb port Docsis 3.1 modem. The downloads speeds will be between 900-1200mbps ( Maximum 1400+ mbps, this will depend if you have the correct setup and if your devices have ethernet ports that are over 1gb) and the upload speed will be 40 mbps.
