What's difference between these and certified premium HDMI cables??
Update: appears to be similar but does not have the certificate in QC. Doesn't state explicitly lifetime warranty like the premium. Guess u order these cables that aren't checked. So rolling the dice. For "Monoprice 4K Slim Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable 6ft - 18Gbps Black - 5 Pac" is $25.99.
So how u value your time makes the difference. Not saying these are bad but when anything can go wrong u never know if it's cables, box unit, or the connector.. removing doubt on any variable makes all the difference.
I say if u immediately use them to confirm they work it's good. But if buying to stock up as spare not worth the headache in case bad batch. With 8k not a good long-term backup bc never know one day if everyone will be talking about 8k cables being the norm. I know bc I have a box of old HDMI cables that are useless and won't work with 4k or not updated cables (like 1.x version). Waste of space and time and they aren't labeled except for "high speed" so lack of identification made me buy one-time a batch to establish uniformity. I previously bought the premium cables from monoprice.. sadly not on a sale but needed to clean up the area cluttered with so many devices and power lines and HDMI.

What's process do you use to 'test' the cables capability and if they can handle 4k or not? Like you, I have a bunch of hdmi and would love to know which ones are 4k capable or not and toss the junk ones. TIA
The cables are good but expect a very long delivery time. It took me two weeks and three different scheduled delivery days to travel the distance of a neighboring state. Not worth it for a short notice project!

I didn't. That's why I bought a entire batch of 2x5-pack 4k HDMI "premium" cable set 6 feet from monoprice as a standard batch and tossed all my old cables away (or all isolated aside just in case but really I won't use them except to give away). I got tired of figuring out why my 4k mightormightnot play. I put all my 4k devices on a 4k expansion unit so all Xbox one x, Nvidia shield, PC, PS4 pro, Nintendo switch... I got a black screen and couldn't figure out which one didn't work and just applied the same Cable to all. Now all of them play fine.
U would just simply plug in your cable and see that it works. U would know if your device is 4k. That's about it. If it doesn't work u will see a blank screen or some scrambled video. It's a real detective work when one cable is not 4k. Also, if it's not 4k Cable think it heats up or something.. bc sometimes if over a hour I feel heat on the adapter.. it eventually hiccups or glitches. I don't have that issue no more. But I don't play more than 1-2 hours.
