Direct Tools Outlet [directtoolsoutlet.com] has a "Buy One Get One Free" special on the Ryobi P197 4Ah factory reconditioned battery for $49.99 in-store or $7 flat rate shipping.

With all the Ryobi tool-only deals lately, these batteries would be a good fit at $25 each for those seeking batteries. The Ryobi P197 4Ah battery uses the exact same cells as the Ryobi P192 4Ah HP battery, so you get the same performance on brushed tools.

Home Depot [homedepot.com] sells the Ryobi P197 2-Pack for $79.

When the Ryobi P197 battery is added to the cart, the free battery is automatically added.

This is probably YMMV but I previously bought a 3Ah HP reconditioned battery from Direct Tools Outlet at their B&M store, it works fine but has noticeably shorter battery life (probably ~25% less) compared to an identical battery that I bought new. It's noticeable when I use it in an LED light. I'll stick to new batteries from now on.
$57 (used) vs $79 (new).
No one knows for sure outside people who work for Ryobi but it's likely the extra tabs on the HP battery lets the tool know that a HP battery is installed so it can draw a higher current than with non-HP batteries.

Good price for this, but I would not buy any non HP batteries as I have a handful of brush less tools.

Probably just cleaned and charged up, and making sure they hold charge.

I bought a couple last year and so far so good

Marketing.
Not true. They have 2 extra tabs on the back of the battery and the tools have 2 tabs to draw extra power.

My 'reconditioned' nailer is now in for warranty repair. I'm going to let this deal slide and buy new from now on.
