Not really a deal. Was randomly looking into Bluetooth audio for Switch and it's been this price. Not sure how this is different, but it has a different product page. Appears to be the same manufacturer, but different product?

Bro, all bluetooth is bidirectional by definition. You are reading too much into the info you are looking at.

Bluetooth transmitter really means it's the central / master device. Bluetooth receiver really means it is a peripheral / slave device. However transmitter / receiver have become the lay person nomenclature. It does not preclude or include mic capability in their intended definitions.

Bluetooth audio is the AD2P bluetooth profile. A sub profile is the headset HSP profile. Both the transmitter and receiver necessarily would support both AD2P and HSP in order to "hear" and "speak" for headset use.

Now I know that doesn't answer your question about this product, but it should clarify why the assumptions you were making wouldn't necessarily be informative.

The real question is whether it supports the headset profile.

I didn't see a mention of a mic or speaking anywhere in the description or the reviews. Also, the description states "5. This is a Bluetooth transmitter not a receiver, it will bring audio resource to your devices."

Those things combined is what makes me think it will only send audio.

Trying to understand this thing. Does the USB provide a audio output device? So if using this w/ Windows, you'd just change the audio output to the new audio output device and you're good?

Yeah, that's unfortunately (fortunately?) the case with the majority of Chinese brand-x items on Amazon, just search for the item type, check the Prime shipping box, sort price low-to-high and there's the exact same item cheaper from a lesser known brand.

I have never tried via Bluetooth, but you certainly can with a headset that has a mic plugged into the headphone jack. My kid uses that for fortnite and talks with his friends all the time.
